Wah wah i have the most talented qb in football woe is me.

I'd think it was less insane if he wasnt always fed up with having a top three qb

 

Eh I think it's too early in Kizer's career to make claims like that

 

I'm telling you, dont wish too hard on him being traded though. 35 year old QB with that much talent...the Evil Empire would send Brady into the sunset and pounce!

 

I heard Kizer was on a roll. No, strike that - Kizer IS a roll. My mistake.

 

Scenario A: you have a generational QB who is a pain but is good at football and worst case you never make another Super Bowl because of his attitude

Scenario B: you don’t have a generational QB and you trust the same GM who paid Za’Darius Smith $66M to not screw up a rebuild in a putrid QB draft class

I’d take A every time

the dude hasn't had playoff success for almost a decade now.

 

I mean I don't think they're trading Rodgers this offseason or anything like that hahaha. I'd at least...you know, shop around for a future QB while I've got him.

 

Rodgers is one of the best pure QB talent I've ever seen but he's "only" made it to a Super Bowl and won about a decade ago. I can understand moving on for draft picks at this point.

 

Look at the bullshit they gave him to work with and you can understand that a bit more.

 

I bet if the Packers knew that Clay Matthews wasn't good they would've built a better defense for a few of those years

 

Sure, but if the team is still shit now, by the time they're able to build around him, he'll be pushing 40 and probably declining.

Rodgers is no Brady.

 

Brady is a 100000000% more intelligent QB than Rodgers

 

Being "one of" something is great and all but Brady is #1 with a bullet in pretty much every way you could possibly want for a QB: talent, leadership, intelligence, longevity, respect, availability, etc...

 

And I'm not saying they should trade Rodgers. I just think it does make sense in a way and isn't the typical Packers fan thinking the sky is falling kind of thinking.

 

I mean surely you can see how it's completely unreasonable to look at a player and be like "just do the same thing TOM BRADY did that no one else has done"

 

@CarpetElf has some really good takes but a lot of his takes are "just be good" and "just don't do stupid things" and it's like well no shit

 

I was countering the age argument, not the success

 

It's just that when I think of the Rodgers parallel I think of Peyton Manning more than I think of Tom Brady or Drew Brees, and Peyton completely fell off a cliff with age

 

And I get that Peyton also won a Super Bowl on the way out but Denver defense and weapons >>>>>>> Green Bay defense and weapons plus they had first year Wade which is peak Wade

 

I'm sure you're already aware that Peyton Manning won a super bowl before retiring at like 39

 

Did you see what he did in it

Imagine instead of Emmanuel Sanders you have something called Equinamus St Brown or whatever and instead of Von Miller you have ZaDarius Smith and well you get the picture

Those aren't things you can just boost overnight and for all we know, Aaron Rodgers has overnight available and we don't know beyond that

 

A huge part of Rodgers' game is how mobile he is, both in navigating and dodging players behind the line of scrimmage and scrambling for first downs.

He almost positively not going to get better at that as he ages.
