Oh, for sure. He goes to the highest bidder no doubt but if they're equal then you push him far away, I should have been more clear in my original statement.

  2. Everyone should follow the rule that you do not trade anyone to the Patriots ever

You trade to the team that gives a deal that ensures you win the trade

It's honestly like...not the worst policy. Usually, we hit when we make trades like this, Trent Brown being the best example recently, Kony Ealy being the worst.

Kony Ealy, damn, haven't heard that name in a while.

  7. Can you imagine a world where the Steelers got a 1st from the Patriots for AB? Steelers select a shitty CB with it who is out of the league in 3 years. AB takes a shit on the Steelers in the regular season and then again in the playoffs this year.

Because yeah I'd be mortified to trade away Rosen and watch the Pats turn him into the QB of the future and have on my resume "He's the guy who gave away Rosen to the Patriots" regardless of return value

There are teams you could send Rosen to, knowing what he is and knowing how he'll perform there. With the Patriots that very well could not be the case.

"He's the guy who chose Kyler Murray and gave Rosen to the Pats" inevitably makes it worse.

Hey. The Browns got a 3rd for a guy who only plays 1/3rd of defensive snaps and a 5th for 10 games of Josh Gordon. I'll take it.

I'm not sure I've seen a single move the Browns have made in my history combined here and AP that you didn't like though lol.

Pretty sure you were there for the 2012 Draft and my reaction to Brandon Weeden.

The Browns haven't really done anything entirely stupid in terms of big contract failures in FA. Otherwise, I don't overly judge the draft picks. (Unless, they're named Brandon Weeden.) There were plenty of moves I didn't like though: Jake Delhomme, RGIII (moreso knowing he wasn't the answer at QB), Dwayne Bowe, letting Mitchell Schwartz go when they had the opportunity to match his contract, cutting Joe Haden (even though he wasn't as good) and keeping Hue after year one, among others.

    The rivalry is back on

Jacoby Brissett for Philip Dorsett wasn’t such a bad deal with the Patriots

Neither was Dwayne Allen for some pick even though I think they cut the pick straight out of camp cause he sucked

    whew

Von got 6 years, $114 million ($70 million guaranteed)

so Lawrence wants $139 million with $85 million guaranteed? Good luck with that.

We typically don't let elite talent leave, I can't even remember the last time we did that, but he's being extremely tough. And he's still not having surgery until he signs a contract.

I get it, but damn man, he's not gonna stop until he gets the largest contract ever at his position, ugh

Cowboys aren't going to be able to keep all of Dak, Cooper, Zeke, Lawrence, B. Jones, Martin, Frederick and T. Smith

    just not possible.

We could if we don't care to sign anyone else over the next few years, haha

Of those guys though, I'd prefer Jones be the one to leave and then we can sign everyone else.

    Lets Go. Prestigious

Dak is going to get at least $25-30 million
Zeke is going to get like $15
Cooper is going to get like $17
Lawrence is going to get $20-22
Byron Jones is going to get at least $14 you have to think
    Tyron SMith makes $13
    Frederick makes $10
    Z. Martin makes $14

thats like $125-130 million locked up in 8 guys. Thats insane.

Yeah, it is a lot but that's the name of the game, you gotta keep as many great talented players as you can.

Luckily Romo's contract is completely off the books now. We've been having to navigate our cap for the last 2-3 years with his and Bryant's and Witten's old contracts, so we've already been walking the tight rope while maintaining winning records and a playoff win, so I'm not too worried.

Also, I'd be curious to look at something like the teams who have won the most over the last 3 years and the percentage of the total cap hit for their top 5 players or top 10 players. I doubt it's much different than that breakdown.

They also might not keep Zeke
