I can see him playing a lot of Nickel linebacker, which is one of our primary sets anymore....and likewise slide in as the dime safety.

I say that under the assumption butler still schemes linebackers to cover WRs out wide. Maybe if he changes obvious things it won't be as bad

 

I guess Williams bush maybe bostic and Barron is an average lb crew

Yeah, or the insanity of expecting a guy like Bud Dupree to match up with a TE. We should honestly be running a 2-4-5 all the time...Tuitt/Heyward, Watt/Dupree, Williams/Barron as the middle, Haden/Nelson/Hilton/Davis/whoever at SS. They can have Dupree and Watt put their hands down to modify it to a 3-3 as well.

Instead they run this weird modified 4-3 that just doesnt quite add up.

 

5-2 is the superior formation

 

Its hard to blame Butler for this, ultimately. They clearly built that defense around Shazier and then he went down.

 

The only thing you can really blame butler for is not being able to develop Colberts shitty db picks Haha

 

At the same time if the steelers draft a corner who's at least average their defense because a lotttt better, even if Dupree doesn't have a big contract year

 

The starting LBs should be Williams and a rookie at this point.

 

If you add bush, then take a corner, trade up for winovich, could be really improved. Can't really replace AB though, have to hope jw improves and moncrief is at least average.

 

yeah, we need a Devin Bush badly at this point...someone that can produce like Shazier.

 

Just stop the run and you'll probably get 2nd in the AFC North.

Just go watch LSU's offense highlights from 2011-2013 while imagining it with a better QB and you'll know that a CB probably won't matter.
