    The rivalry is back on

I remember back when the Colts were supposed to be super aggressive on this second wave of free agency or something

Was hoping to see HaHa and Landon Collins play together again. Him playing beside Eddie Jackson will be cool though.

signing Malcolm Brown kinda lessens the chance that NO signs Teddy right? They don't really have much space even after Brees restructures

Oh HUSH come on hahaha. This Coughlin bashing is getting so fucking ridiculous.

Where do you even get this stuff from?? It's not like you've been keeping tabs on him the whole time he's been in NYG...

I haven't and I'm more of an "old Jaguars contributors" nerd than you are.

There are so many stubborn old men in the NFL and you seem the angriest about the one who
    1) has had more success than a solid 80-90% of long-term coaches
    2) is one of the rare coaches to beat Bill Belicheck in the playoffs (multiple times)
    3) still to this day presided over the most success the Jaguars ever had, including 3 AFCCG's

Forgive a successful coach for having some hubris and conviction about his decisions haha, damn. You're SUPPOSED to have confidence in your decision making in that role regardless whether you're good or bad, but ESPECIALLY if you're good. This is why you can be such a buzzkill sometimes - this is the greatest coach in Jaguars history and you can't even give him the benefit of the doubt for a couple years. You ALREADY gotta be negative and sardonic when we really should be criticizing Doug Marrone & Todd Wash.

He might make mistakes as a result of overconfidence and struggling to adapt to a young league, but at the very least he's earned it, and deserves more than one down year before you come hard with this judgment. He's not the worst front office guy ever just because he's more traditional. Old school football still works and beats good teams if you execute it correctly.

And besides you're creating a character profile out of thin air. I bet you haven't even watched the Tom Coughlin "Football Life" (weird flex on my part lol, but it's TOPICAL) and you're making all these assumptions and shit, when most of his seasons in the NFL have been above-average success. By the way, in that Football Life he DOES admit mistakes he's made over his career, including when his first tenure in Jax was coming to an end.

I'm really glad he took that pay cut, but unless he bucks his career long trend of missing time practically every season and plays much better than he did in his limited time last year, $3 million a year still seems high for a linebacker who's probably 3rd in line in their position.

And I know y'all just discussed Elway and how benefit of the doubt doesn't really work anymore, but he's had 8 years.

Coughlin has had 3, and the team turned around in his second year. He can be given credit for a lot of that certainly.

Caldwell was trying and failing to create an exciting finesse team that could pass the ball, when dad Coughlin came in he strapped Caldwell back in his car seat and drove him to Home Depot to buy a runningback, some tougher defenders, and some damn offensive line.

Time of possession became much more balanced and turnovers & sacks dropped drastically. He also personally recruited Calais Campbell to have his best year here, and had a hand in the rest of Caldwell's best FA class (Bouye, Gipson, & Malik were instrumental in our 2017 run but also all cuttable now with limited dead money).

Coughlin and Elway. Good comparision. Guys who get lucky and make two super bowl runs with elite talent and are unable to replicate it ;)

you didn't try, and didn't see where I'm already self-aware that I only give him benefit of the doubt because he's Coughlin

Of sugar and ice I am made

I get that Verrett was really good a few years ago, but since then he's torn both an ACL and an Achilles. Trent Baalke had a habit of acquiring players who were coming off of significant injuries, and for some reason Lynch has inherited that obsession. Almost none of these guys ever pan out, but he keeps adding them. The man is not a competent GM.

    re Tate to Giants

    4 yrs 37mil

I don't hate it, it'll be fun to see teams try to determine if he or sterling need to be doubled, could end up being a real fun 1/2.
