I just don't like it. We gambled on a mid-tier Jags defender and lost already. We had the money to be the top bidder on Earl Thomas. And we ended up with Gipson.

 

Curious how much Gipson got since Thomas is probably either us or 49ers.

 

Ravens are going to need some young guys to step up big at OLB. Judon will be solid but they really need Tim Williams/Tyus Bowser to step up. Still looking great on DL and especially great at CB if everyone stays healthy (Humphrey, J Smith, Young, Carr).

Yeah, I saw a rumor that we're interested in trading him for the Colts' first round pick, but I highly doubt that. He's a huge position of need for us in general, even if we sign him, which I think we will.

Yeah from what I'm hearing, he's asking for 21-23 mil APY and since he's just a player that rushes the passer (vs like a Clowney who is a run stopper too or Aaron Donald for a much better example) Cowboys aren't willing to bend.

 

Again I'm really really not sure how true it is but it's interesting

 

What's funny is that our secondary is actually pretty decent. We don't need someone there near as much as we do at DE and DT. Irving was already going to be gone because of his off the field issues, dude played like 10-20 snaps or something all last season. But with Gregory gone, it raises that need even more.

 

He can still be cleared before June, right?

 

Eh, that's selling him a bit short. He's double-teamed on nearly every play for both pass rushing and run stopping.

 

I mean I could easily see them moving him since he’s asking for a wild number if they had some young cats lined up behind him but they...don’t.

I guess they have Taco but hasn’t he been a bust to this point? I realize that means diddly poo cause Brandon Graham was a colossal bust his first few years too. Of course, he was being held up and compared to Earl Thomas who they passed on to draft BG.

 

Taco isn't a bust but he's basically just an 'okay' kind of dude. If he never improves above that then he's basically a depth guy.

 

So yeah, not a guy who you’d feel exactly confident in if they did find a suitor for Lawrence and plugged Taco in his place.

Yeah, for sure. Lawrence is elite and is going to get paid. I just hope it's hear. And I don't really have a reason to think they won't since it's at our biggest position of need in the first place and when's the last time we let an elite player leave, you know? I can't think of anyone in recent memory.
