If I had to put my money on it, theres two things.

1. It's got a bunch of Asus programs on it that run slow as shit, but you can remove them and it helps. Or just clean install Windows and that'll remove them

2. The hard drive is the older style, moving to an SSD helps faster startup and is way quicker with moving files.

But this sounds like you've either got some malware or a piece of hardware is dying. If you've got a USB drive and dont care about anything on the computer, you can clean install Windows, and if it stll runs slow after that, then its probably a hardware thing:

Start fresh with a clean installation of Windows 10

Just more confirmation that I’ll be building my own computer for recording.

 

Built my own Hackintosh about this time last year; its both fun and WAY cheaper than buying off the rack.

Building your own laptop though, not so easy.

Oh it’d be a desktop with an SSD drive, DDR4 RAM, and at least a 3.6 GHz processor for sure.

Laptops generally just aren’t powerful enough to load and run like 50 tracks in one song that all have mixing / effects being applied to them. I’d have to buy a $2600 new MacBook Pro for that. Building a desktop would cost $900 tops, might be able to fit it under $750 if I buy around the holidays.

 

Yeah, Im a video editor, so I know the jam. I looked at the Mac Pro prices at like $5k, saw I could build a better computer for like $1500, and figured it out from there.

Though at one point my biggest snag was it wasnt powering on...and it turns out I hadnt turned on the power supply

 

i always watch with some friends and we do prop bets during the game unless a team we love is in it and we're really paying attention.

some of the "rules" we have for when we take a drink or eat a wing (or something else):

- how many car commercials will there be
- how many beer commercials will there be
- guess the product being sold
- how long the commercials will last before going back to the game (1 min, 2 min, 3 min, etc.)
- will anyone fall during the half time show

things like that

Friendly reminder that you also need a good graphics card because of the plugin load and how shitty Ableton / Pro Tools decided to handle their programs.

i dont do superbowl parties since they usually have a lot of ppl that dont give a shit about football so they talk during the game and tell me to be quiet during commercials that i dont give a FUCK about.

gonna go get trashed w a couple coworkers today then spend tomorow hungover playing gta probably. then repeat the process to a more moderate extent for sunday HA. fortunatley i dont need to get up until the afternoon on monday
