As good as he is a lot of teams have to be curious about his current antics and whether or not he thinks he's above playing for them.

he doesn't have that right, what are you talking about? He doesn't have a no trade clause as far as I know. Why should he get to choose where he goes?

maybe if he didn't act like a moron for the past few months, more teams would realistically try and acquire him?

a player has the right to decide whether they want to play football or not, they just won't get paid

deciding you don't want to play football IN GENERAL is a lot different than thinking you can decide where you play football for a specific team

    2 totally different things

anyways I am glad my team is not involved in this drama for once. Just let us be bad in peace

Okay, you're dictating the conversation and that's not at all what I meant. He has the right to decide whether or not he will play football, no one can make him play.

Brown just wants to pick where he plays. He still wants to play football, but he wants to do so in a city/situation he likes. This happens so much in the NFL and other sports. Why is there any kind of debate about this?

  16. Because he's under contract and why should the team accept shitty compensation just so he can play where he wants?

He's under contract and does not have a no-trade clause (as far as I know)

the Steelers shouldn't be forced to accept lesser compensation just to cater to the baby boy

Theoretically any player has the power to leverage their labor against being traded against their will. Gronk reportedly did the same thing last year when the Patriots were going to trade him for Detroit. I don’t have a problem with it.

but it isn't against his will. He wants to be traded. The Steelers are trying to facilitate his request.

Sorry, I don't have respect for guys that acted the way Brown did the past few months. Like I said, if he didn't act like a little baby boy than maybe more teams would come try to get him?

If you don’t want to be traded (AB does, by the way), then isn’t that why you or your agent you pay handsomely negotiates NTCs in your giant contracts?

AB wants to be traded to a destination of his choosing as if he’s a free agent....he’s not. He had that chance and elected to stay in Pittsburgh.

If he wants to retire rather than go to Buffalo or whatever then that is 1000% his right and he’s free to do that if he wants but I don’t get the argument for allowing him to pick where he’s traded to if there is no such language in his contract which once again, does exist and is possible.

Edit: I am also on team “Fuck Big Ben” and also team “Fuck the entire city of Pittsburgh” so this isn’t me arguing in support of anything Pittsburgh .

I know he wants to be traded but he doesn’t want to be traded to a team he doesn’t want to go to, which would be a trade against his will. Sorry for the poor wording.

I’m not defending him as a person or how he’s behaved, I think he’s a dick. But I don’t hold anything against players trying to control their own destiny. But then I tend to take the side of the player vs ownership in most situations when they dispute. I get not feeling the same way, but players are people, you can’t force them to accept a situation you put them in.
