    The rivalry is back on

I’m not getting that tuition $$ back so might as well take advantage of being a bandwagon third-tier fan :D

I got a LSU Kevin Gausman shirsey a couple days ago as a belated souvenir from going down there last year

Yeah, they've had a hard time replacing future GOAT Danny Etling.

I had no idea the steelers hired Teryl Austin as a senior defensive assistant, butler probably not happy about having someone on his staff who could easily replace him

Also fun fact I played baseball with Gausman growing up

Would love Zeitler but then we’d have two guards that both make 8 digit salaries

Norwell was and is far better and also not getting cut

I just looked at a bunch of 2018 stats (QB passing and rushing touchdowns, QB fumbles regardless of who recovered, interceptions thrown, 100% would be interceptions that were just dropped by the defender, and games played) and came to these ratios:

Dak - 1.556 touchdowns per game, 1.556 turnovers per game, 29 pass attempts per game, 18 games played
Goff - 1.789 touchdowns per game, 1.737 turnovers per game, 30 pass attempts per game, 19 games played
Wentz - 1.909 touchdowns per game, 1.727 turnovers per game, 36 pass attempts per game, 11 games played

So each of these three guys are in a 0.3 range in touchdowns per game and 0.2 range turnovers per game.

Very interesting how close each of these guys are and hilarious that Dak is literally at 0.000 ratio between those two metrics.

I looked at rushing stats as well (minus QB rushing touchdowns):

Eagles averaged 0.454 TDs a game
Cowboys averaged 0.611 TDs a game
Rams averaged 1.315 TDs a game.

Norwell and Zeitler are on the same tier haha

Both top 10 guards in the league, closer to top 5 really

Zeitler’s probably getting cut because he’s asking more than they wwanna pay

One is younger and, again, did not just get cut

Keep in mind that Cincy cut Whitworth when he got old too and then he went on to command 17M AAV and continue to be a top 5 LT in the league for the Rams

I feel like it’s common for O-linemen who manage to stay healthy to hold value into their 30s

Right but the move saves them 22 million the next two years and It’s possible he was asked to take a cut and refused. Browns got a lot of high draft picks to resign

My point is it’s not because he wasn’t playing at a high level.

For OT, yes. For guards? Only the best. Zeitler deserves the money but we can’t afford to have two of the best free agent guards. It’d be more responsible if at least one of them was homegrown

Responsible sure. likely? Idk about that

Of sugar and ice I am made

Earl Thomas' initial asking price is apparently too high for the Cowboys at present, which probably means he's looking to get paid as though he weren't 30 and coming off some big injuries. My guess says he ends up a Niner, hopefully not for a ridiculous sum. Maybe Richard Sherman can negotiate his deal for him.

It'd be fantastic if the Cowboys didn't get Earl Thomas.

I looked at yardage totals too and found this summarized information (even if nobody is reading this or cares, lol):

    Per Game Average Totals
    Dak - 235 yards, 1.6 touchdowns, 1.6 turnovers
    Goff - 253 yards, 1.8 touchdowns, 1.7 turnovers
    Wentz - 288 yards, 1.9 touchdowns, 1.7 turnovers

Tossed Watson in too and he's at 296, 1.5, and 1.5.
