Yeah I don’t know if I agree with that. The baggage is real, but you’re getting a top 5 receiver of the decade for an alshon jefferey-like cap hit. He’s a diva, but he’s a game breaker. He still runs amazing routes and commands double coverage that changes the game

People said the same thing about Cooper and he proved everyone wrong.

Brown is older, but he's significantly better than Cooper and there are no other WR free agents anywhere near as good as Brown, so he's worth at least a 1st and probably another pick in later rounds.

 

I just wouldn't give up a first rounder for a 30 year old WR.

 

Plus you can do something like the Patriots did with the Browns where if he no-shows or gets suspended you receive an additional pick in compensation.

 

Trust me I think he's turned into a real douche lately but players have done far worse and he's a top 5 player of this decade and is still competing at an extremely high level ya'll are crazy if you don't think he goes for a 1st

Bringing up Cooper in this instance is kind of silly because his age also played a big factor in giving up a 1st. I don't know, I feel like AB could really hit the decline pretty quickly in the next couple years.

 

If I was a team that was a SB contender last year (that has cap room) and could use that one extra piece to get over the hump (HOU or IND for example), I absolutely would give a first to get AB.

Receivers who don't constantly go over the middle have one of the longer shelf lives in the NFL, he will be good for another 5-7 years

 

like the Colts should absolutely 100% give up the NYJ 2nd if that was the price

AB makes sense for any team that's close to competing, idk why Oakland thinks they're close

 

I do think AB is worth a first but if the Texans are the team that give them that first I am giving every piece of Texans gear I own away

hahaha only reason I say it is the window with the defense is closing. And Im just dreaming of other defenses trying to stop AB/Hopkins/Fuller.

 

I think there’s something to be said about a marketing decision to get a star like Brown though. They’re moving to a new city, they can’t pull up with nobody to get a excited about
