As I've said before, I totally get it from the perspectives of Kyrie and Dwight, but there's a lot of NBA players who don't nearly make anywhere near as much as they do. And the financial consequences, as stated in a tweet above, would be enormous if they didn't play. Wish they could just not play to fight the injustices here in America, but it just doesn't look possible.

 

Isn't there also the possibility that a player tests positive and shuts the season down pretty quickly?

 

probably, but i think the idea of the 'bubble' is that once they're in orlando, in the resorts, and all test negative, there's probably a relatively low chance of exposure considering how locked down they're supposedly going to be. which is kinda wild, i've been in nice(r) disney hotel rooms, and, i still wouldnt wanna be locked in them long-term. a hotel room isn't a house or even an apartment lol

I completely understand kyries point. I understand playing too. It's a rare time when I'll pretty much agree with whatever anyone decides to do. A personal call where I wouldn't blame or hate anyone for choosing whatever.

The whole sports is a distraction topic. It's TRUE. It is. And I think people need breaks from the day to day life of sadness or else you're gonna go insane.... but I obviously understand that if you're hardcore into the movement right now, the last thing you want is any distraction.

If that call had 80-100 people on it and in agreement with Kyrie that’s damn near a quarter of your players in the whole league.

And wouldn’t a potential easy solution to have all of them lie on the questionnaire they were sent so they wouldn’t be able to go which would stop/delay this from happening? And then in two weeks when you fill out the form, lie again lol. “Yep I had contact with fifteen people that have since tested positive, oops. Guess we have to stay put.”
