I'd be pretty surprised if he declined his $28M player option for next season. Especially with the cap going down.

Even if he declines...the Cavs didn't lose anything. Got rid of two expiring contracts that had no future here and a bad 2023 second round pick. Who cares?

I was hoping so before but I’m not sure I care anymore lol
i keep thinking about TT eating Drummond’s lunch earlier this season and it just makes me sad lol

Ennis can't be bringing much back

Although Shams has now deleted the tweet lol

He turned down more money to take a vet min last offseason so I think it was the Sixers doing him a solid

Forget the exact reason why but it’s with him having a minimum contract and signing a 2 year deal with an option in the 2nd year.

that’s fair, I figured the pistons could at least get a better pick than one in the second round three years down the road. I feel like he will opt out though, someone with the cap flex I’m sure is more willing pay more than his option.

And TT had 35 points. I guess I just don’t get it? If anything we need a strong defensive player or a wing (both) to help contribute to showing semblance of a competent basketball team. Drummond is very good at rebounding but I don’t see what benefit he adds to this team, I guess next year we must assume that Thompson is gone

like it’s totally inconsequential but I just don’t get it

I just don't see the reason NOT to do it, given what we had to (or didn't have to) give up.

This is a wild deadline is it over yet???

  18. Crowder's defense has been okay at best to my eye, and despite a bit of hot shooting early in the season his offense has been trash most of the season. Grizzlies might be actively better without him as a rotation option imo

  19. Solomon Hill has been decent this year but is far from irreplaceable

The return is shit but I’m so fucking glad we aren’t maxing our Drummond. That’s a win in my book. In a league where centers aren’t nearly as important, I’ll gladly trade one away so we don’t waste cap space

I’m mad we didn’t make more moves but at least I don’t have to worry about a max Drummond deal anymore

I can NOT believe the Cavs didn't move Thompson. Especially with Drummond coming in.
