In canvassing more than a dozen scouts and executives, the consensus is that the Lakers should surge up the standings to the high 40s or low 50s in wins and be in strong contention for home-court advantage in the first round of the postseason.

That's a true step forward, most seem to believe, in what will be a rebound season -- though maybe not what the Lakers were hoping for a week ago when they were trying to land Kawhi Leonard. Without him, the professionals don't see an immediate championship in this particular group's future.

 

Man, you guys bashed Laker fans last night...Geez. Way to group us all into one category. Like any fanbase (and especially ours since there are so many of them, mostly bandwagoners) we have some stupid fans. Shit happens.

 

IMO you can't enjoy the bravado of rooting for a massively hated successful sports team like the Lakers and also get upset when people bash their fans for being obnoxious

Celtics fans take heat in this thread nonstop and the site's Celtics fans are just like "I know right that's stupid"

 

I think what makes it worse is when you realize half or more than half of the Lakers fans are bandwagoners.

 

It's definitely true, I live in Cowboys country and so many of those Cowboys fans are also Lakers fans

Also probably doesn't help that the media is immediately writing them in for a championship as are the fans and each time the fans have done a write-in (outside of LeBron becoming a Laker) it hasn't come true

 

I live for the NFL Thread ganging up on me for being a Pats fan hahaha

 

I work with someone like this, he's a Cowboys fan and a Yankees fan. He's from North Jersey, so I get why he's a Yankees fan. So I asked him about being a Cowboys fan and all's he said well I like teams that win.

 

Yup this city is covered with shit like that, including bandwagoners that aren't Cowboys fans (older = 49ers, younger = Seahawks, in between/around my age = Patriots)

I know the whole fandom thing can be kind of stupid, but I don't think I could ever jump ship to another winner if my team started to suck.

As a cowboys fan I 100% endorse this. I’m part of a super shitty fanbase and answering for it / being lumped in comes with the territory.

 

You should totally post in the NFL thread, we have resident Cowboys fan as well. It's an awesome place !
