Avery was a novelty POS. But even as someone who laughs at his career in the league, I think his effort there wasn't a bad idea.

It wasn't against the rules, why not try it? Screening a goalie - especially a goalie as top tier as Brodeur at that time - is imperative. He went about it a different way.

Do not confuse that with me thinking Avery deserved to take the ice as an NHL player. But his screen attempt was a pretty good idea.

 

Agreed. Only because Jets vs VGK can only be the WCF, and can't be the SCF matchup.

 

Jets/VGK is the dream. Two teams everyone thought would suck, one historically bad from the worst city in North America, one in its first year? Great story.

 

You would have told me at the beginning of the season that we would have a Jets/Knights WCF and I would have laughed in your face. Now we're almost there.

 

Jets/VGK would be awesome. The pace alone would be crazy exciting.
