no one is saying BArkley is a bad player. He is obviously a stud

but I'd much rather have a potential franchise QB (Darnold) and a 2nd or 3rd round RB than an elite RB and a question mark at QB going forward

 

By the time the Giants are remotely good Barkley will have 2yrs left max, you don't pick a rb if you're going in for a long rebuild. You take a qb or a pass rusher or trade down for more picks

 

With the moves they made in the offseason it looks like they were trying to make 1 last run with Eli. Now, it looks like they're in rebuild mode since that didn't work out.

 

I'm a Justin Herbert fan (pains me to say) but I am 100% NOT a Justin Herbert Top 5 pick fan.

On the flip side of that though, I do not want to see him in New York because if he puts it all together with that offensive roster then yikes.

I'm hoping the Giants take a QB high this year and stay away from the Herbert/Tua/Eason/Fromm's in 2020.

2020 has the potential to be a disgustingly loaded QB class.

Barkely being called a bad pick has been a daily thing since the moment he was drafted, haha

 

I think the issue is while Barkley was certainly worth pick 2, the Giants were the wrong team to do it.

 

Barkley was a bad pick from the standpoint of what the Giants needed.

Is Barkley a generational type player at the position? Absolutely but the Giants offensive line is dog shit (Nate Solder got owned all night on Monday and he was their big prize in FA this year) and Eli is obviously a melted down turd now.

Barkley was not a bad pick from the player standpoint but from a franchise standpoint, I think it was.

Yeah, getting an RB before a QB is bad news. The Rams really fucked themselves that way.

I’m still not totally out of wanting to re-sign him depending on cost. He missed a year and never put up 10 sacks so he might not be as costly as we think.

Well they TRIED to do that. Now they are selling their defense wholesale Costco style.

Now they're going to enter the 2019 draft with no QB, suspect OL, no corners (once Janoris is dealt), lack of depth on the DL.....annnnnnd Landon Collins.

 

Yeah and Gurley had like 4-5 good games and then fell off totally in his rookie year. I know cause I had him in fantasy. The line was the biggest priority for the Rams, AND the reason why the Giants still blow with the playmakers they have.
