Yeah I've been a Dak defender but...it is getting harder to defend Dak. I'd like to see how he does under different coaching, especially since he was really a 4th round project in the first place, but right now it's hard to have any other view.

 

In 2016, our offensive line was clearly the best in the league at run blocking, but were "only" a bit above average in pass protection. There were a few other teams that year who had a line that was as good as ours like the Packers, Raiders, and Steelers.

Witten is a Hall of Fame talent, but 2016 Witten is not the same player he was five years previous. Still a great player, but not elite at that point.

If you think Dez is a Hall of Fame player, especially in 2016, then it's clear you didn't watch the games and are retroactively pumping up his value because he hasn't been the same type of player since his 2015 injury.

Zeke is a generational running back, that is true. And Dak was able to play well enough to help lead us to 13-3 and the #1 seed in the NFC.

If you think he wasn't good in 2016, then I can just ignore your opinion on football in general, because that's ludicrous.

Edit: And you're still ignoring my original point, so whatever.

 

I feel pretty good about this list. Not counting Beathard because the plan is Jimmy G.

Actually if I’m not mistaken our defense is still top 5. You’re missing a lot of relevant context, if you don’t realize how much harder that is to do, when your offense can’t do shit & keeps giving the opponents the ball quickly with easy field position.

Look at the video in the comments. The second that Gallup changes up his route and starts getting open, Kerrigan is in Dak's face and he has to spin away. Even if he threw before he got open, he would have been slammed into before making the throw.

Edit: Just watched another replay from a different angle and you can see that he is setting his feet and pulling his arm back to throw it to him and Kerrigan is sprinting right up into his face.

I'm gonna buy a fucking billboard that says "The Buffalo Bills Made the Playoffs in 2017" since everybody keeps forgetting. McDermott is a very good defensive coordinator.

 

Yes. Yes he is. And a brutal head coach with no idea what a good offensive player looks like, somehow, despite the fact he has been gameplanning to stop good offensive players for 2 decades.

 

Yesterday's game makes me concerned for Dak being too risky with both the ball and his own health. He shouldn't have fumbled there, gotta tuck it in.

But him leaping and diving forward getting concussed and slammed around the midsection is going to get him injured.

 

I heard you the first time. They also gave up like 40 points in a lot of their losses. They are LUCKY they made it to 9-7.

And you’re overselling how bad their roster was. Their offense blows for sure. Bills defense last year had talent though and honestly should have had less high scoring games last couple years.

 

The Bills made the playoffs becuase they can zone block and not a lot of teams had the run-gap discipline to stop both McCoy and Taylor, so Bills were able to play a lot of ball control without passing much at all.
