I was looking at league leaders for 2012 to help with @Dinosaurs Dish 's point and realized that the 4th longest rush of the year was Justin Forsett's rush in Detroit hahaha

But anyway yeah Dez wasn't top 5 in that span but was very very very good

 

If he wasn't top five over that time span, who was? If anything, it's easily arguable that he was.

 

I wish Gaine would go after dez since he wants 1 year

are all receivers I'd say were better than Dez in that span. AB is debatable since he didn't break out until 2013. The other 5 I'm more confident about.

 

I looked up the stats out of curiosity, even though statlines alone shouldn't be the whole support of an argument:

2012 - 6th in yards and 3rd in touchdowns
2013 - 13th in yards and 3rd in touchdowns
2014 - 8th in yards and 1st in touchdowns

So yards were never his specialty, but I think being a touchdown magnet (he led the league in touchdowns scored by any player from 2010-2014 not named Gronk) should at the very least give him a bump in ranking players.

Either way, he's not the same anymore but I think would be a great #2 somewhere with an above average quarterback and pretty solid #1 on the other side of the field.

It is refreshing hearing a Cowboys fan bring up the good things about Dez though after spending the last 5 years hearing fans around here demand he get cut

 

Trust me, it drives me nuts as well. He was never the same after getting hurt in 2015 and playing with the worst combination of quarterbacks I've seen in a long time that year and then going to a rookie/second year quarterback just exposed that he wasn't the same.

Still love the man, but it is what it is.

 

I think his attitude is what puts a bad taste in my mouth.

 

If he's looking for a big contract next offseason he should 100% be driving to Foxboro. A year with TB12 instead of Dak Prescott could do wonders for him. Pats could treat him as a second goal line tight end.
