Give me those too. Gesicki and Chark/Moore. While keeping on a receiver that knows the system for much less than WR1 or good WR2 money.

That's better than almost $20 million in Allen Hurns and Marquise Lee.

Maybe we can luck out. Maybe he'll drop the contract when they hand it to him.

 

I think if Lee stays boring and gets beat out by the receivers we draft he's gone after 2 years to make room for Ramsey/Ngakoue. $18 mill guaranteed is very easy to front load.

 

Explaining a bad contract does not make it not a bad contract hahaha. Lee is not good, he shouldn't have been an option let alone for that crazy money. And I'm on record saying he COULD improve but I don't want to be the team to give a long-term deal to an old, fragile receiver.

 

1) What I'm explaining matters because... *whispers* it's not a long term deal.
2) 27 isn't old. He has likely 4 years left of speed which is the max length of this contract.
3) Wait till you see the incentives before calling it "crazy money". It might be a $7 AAV contract if he doesn't surpass certain totals.

 

Eh, four years isn't a short term deal haha. And it could be Stills money with great incentives. The problem remains: he's not good. It's a bad deal regardless of the money haha. If you tell me you want a sandwich and I give you a towel on bread but tell you it's for free, are you gonna be chill with it being for free or wonder why I'm feeding you a towel?

Oh yeah I'm clearly exaggerating hahaha. But for real, Lee is not good and this is a bad contract made out of desperation haha. He's fragile, he's inconsistent, he can't catch Bortles's erratic passes, and he's failed to step up every single time he's been given the chance.

 

I just realized I haven't said anything about Poz. Thanks for caring so much about a team that was shitty this whole time dude. Especially at our lowest point from 2012-2014, he made plays when literally no one else would sometimes.

 

Plus, I said all this before he was drafted was proven right and we are still re-signing him. So, you know, bitter af about that.

To me I already got mad that we didn't resign ARob. That was the big mistake, we dug a hole where we were gonna have to overpay someone who isn't that good. Because we wouldn't properly pay the one alpha dog receiver in our reach this offseason.

Now with the slim pickings available, my top 3 options were Matthews, John Brown, Marqise Lee. The deal is steeper than I wanted but not terrible and I don't blame them for going with someone familiar with the scheme. I'm not gonna have high projections but he can do better than 2017. I still want Matthews but signing Lee kinda ruined the chance of going for Brown.

 

The problem with this "know the scheme" logic is that doesn't apply to this situation. He knows the scheme, has spent four years in it, and still doesn't look good. Even when the scheme is INCREDIBLY favorable to him.
