My aunt lives around those parts and I've never visited. She gets to go rock climbing and goes on all of these awesome hikes. I'm jealous.

I don't plan on moving anywhere else either. It would have to be the most incredible woman or career opportunity for me to leave here.

Since I work from home now I'd move just to get Dallas pay with non-Dallas cost of living.

But would still like to be in a similar area so we'd have to see about that. For now moving to Austin will be nice so I can spend more time with my kids.

Fort Worth is substantially cheaper living, isn't it?

I only want to move a little closer to work but I don't have any aspirations to live anywhere else in the US

if I ever considered moving away from the west coast I probably consider Pittsburgh or Houston tbh.

I'd have to dig a bit more, looks like it's around the same cost as Dallas but that might be for better apartments haha

Pittsburgh is super underrated. If I was gonna stay on the east coast I'd very seriously look at Pittsburgh. Columbus too.

  21. Pittsburgh is such a great city.

I made the mistake of buying a big house in an expensive area. I wish I would have bought a smaller house in a cheaper area, and spent that extra money on travelling/vacations. If I ever do decide to move, it will probably be difficult to sell my house and get out of the mortgage. Shit, I wish I still rented.

Yeah, I'm an apartment guy and got an incredible deal myself, so that skews things.

We have a great deal on our current place as far as the apartment itself goes but the complex as a whole is a ripoff and is terrible

Kind of the same here. Very old and small "complex" that's only like 14 units.

they are building 1/2 bedroom apartments across the street from my parent’s house and the price got me messed up.

    It’s like $1,800 for 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom is $3,000.

(I say this as someone who doesn’t know what owning a house/apartment is)
