Kyrie Irving talking with Jaylen Brown sounds like my actual nightmare.

 

Kyrie has always been very frustrating. Before LeBron returned to Cleveland, he was turning a lot of people off during his 3rd year in Cleveland. His first two years were great, but then during his third season, his body language was always pretty bad and he blew off the media a lot and actually blew off the fans after a game which was Fan Appreciation Night. As someone who went to a lot of games during that tenure, I'd always see him chirping at players on the bench or on the court. I would say fans were split on whether or not they even cared if he signed his extension, which he ultimately did and LeBron returned and the rest is history, but basically, Kyrie's behavior is nothing new. It just wasn't as magnified early on because the Cavs sucked and there was no LeBron.

Irving hasn't been a leader in his first three seasons and he's also gained the unwelcomed reputation as a locker-room problem. Those are two reasons the Cavs don't see him as a max player.
