Opinion on Peppers vs Jamal Adams?

 

They really don't compare honestly. Everyone wants to label Peppers as a box safety because he played linebacker at Michigan, but he's really one of the best all-around athletes in this draft class.

Adams is a true strong safety. Peppers is similar to Mathieu - you could use him all over the secondary and he doesn't really hurt you anywhere.

If I needed a defensive back, I'd take Adams just because you know what you're going to get.

Peppers is all potential.

 

Every great DB prospect is the next Mathieu just like every great RB is the next AP. Peppers is the first guy who actually is similar to Mathieu.

 

Except without the insane nose for turnovers. I find it hard to compare anyone to Mathieu tbh. His ability to get at the ball no matter who is throwing, catching or carrying it, especially as a little 5'9" dude... No one else in football is like that period.

Like Id take Peppers at 4 in a fucking second if I really thought he was as good as Mathieu, but I don't think you'll get 7 INT 5 FF seasons out of him lol

 

OJ Howard seems to be getting a lot of hype recently. He is definitely one of the guys in the running for the Panthers pick.

I guess I'm trying to see where Budda doesn't compare to Mathieu. Similar body structure and flexibility to play safety, boundary corner in certain situation and also nickel, of course, all of which he did at Washington for his whole collegiate career.

Was Mathieu ever looked at as a LB hybrid similar to Peppers?

I've read four safeties might be taken by 20, I mean I could definitely see it.

Adams, Hooker, Ogbgjskekgighsna, and Peppers? I could see it. I think only three should be but I wouldn't be surprised. I thought zero would go last year.

That's who I thought. All that means is the backend safeties will move up too high

 

Would love Adams at 3. Been reading it would be pretty pricey for a safety to be taken there, but if he's as good as advertised then I'm fine with it. Would also be okay with Thomas, or trading down.

A pass rush of all healthy Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman, Pernell McPhee, Leonard Floyd, and Solomon Thomas would be so nasty.
