they should have scored literally 6 goals and got 2

 

Please fuck let one of Liljegren, Dermott or Nielsen pan out. It's always so painful to see our forwards pass back to the point to one of two schlubs who have no idea what to do with the puck. Rielly has almost 0 offensive creativity, Gardiner is a shell of his former self, and the rest aren't even worthy of being mentioned.

I’m over Vegas now. Do what you were supposed to do already and fucking suck.

 

I don't think Nielsen's going to crack the NHL. He can shoot the puck and he's decent offensively but he's a mess in the D-zone.He can't pivot, isn't good on his feet and gets exposed constantly. He's 6'3" and lanky, and doesn't use what little strength he has to his advantage which makes it twice as awful when he's bad on his feet.

Chris you’ve been a real hoot over the last week from hating on empty net hat trick goals and now you’re mad at the Knights. I’m just gonna assume they’re beating the Preds right now.

 

I was shocked Carolina pulled out two points when they played in Vegas. Every other team has been getting shelled there.

 

Yeah I mean I'm definitely not expecting much, but still he's only just turned 21 and frankly he was a long-term project when we drafted him. If he can ever make himself an even serviceable skater at the NHL level, I think he has the offense to be a bottom pairing PP specialist type.

Who knows what kinda Underhill/Babcock magic might happen

Haha I was in a foul mood even before that game. I’m still amazed they are this good but credit to them.

 

so lets recap

-the Devils scored a good ~12 seconds after this zone entry. the Blues re-gained possession and then turned it over. I don't even think Johansson was on the ice when the goal was scored
- a goal was called on the ice
- you are supposed to get 30 seconds after the goal is scored to request a challenge. The refs clearly waited longer than that. It was closer to 45-60 seconds by my count
- they review the play for literally a good 8 minutes
- they SOMEHOW determine based on everything they saw that this was DEFINITIVELY offsides

NHL can go fuck themselves. I get that you want to keep the integrity of the rules, etc. but when it takes you that long to review something, by definition its inconclusive

 

also forgot to mention, Johnansson POSSESSED THE PUCK immediately before that sequence




by rule, you cannot take yourself offsides anymore as long as you have possession of the puck

Yeah there really has to be a statute of limitations on that sort of thing, esp if the other team gains possession and gives it up again

By my count, prior to the trade Ottawa's record was 6-3-5, with a +3 goal differential. That's crazy.
