I don’t disagree, but I think the Red Wings operate at a very... professional level? Both Ilitch organizations try to, so when Dombrowski was fired after the deadline a couple years ago, it was viewed as shocking. Holland has been in Detroit for as long as I have been alive, so it’s likely to think that he will be able to manage out the duration of his deal. I cannot tell you the last time Detroit fired a coach mid season, but I’ve never personally seen it in my lifetime. I also don’t know what the benefit is of firing Blashill given the GM is on a one year deal, whoever takes over will be on a short, trial basis. Ultimately.

I am going to the game Tuesday. I hope the team responds to playing like actual garbage with a win against one of the best teams in the league.
