I miss Mission BBQ. Nearest one to me now is in Indiana.

I honestly don't get the whole "Plano being a bit" thing

 

I honestly just like saying Plano, there's no bit. It's a fun word

 

But Plano does have a couple good BBQ places, McKinney has incredible BBQ, Austin has pretty good BBQ, I hear Houston BBQ is king though

 

BBQ is my favorite food

if I lived in Texas, I would be 400 lbs

 

I might get chik-fil-a for lunch.

I was in south GA this weekend performing and camping at a homemade, DIY festival at a skatepark/ wakeboarding compound. Wakeboarding, wake-skate, and skateboarding competitions happened and bands played on a stage they just built the previous week. Pretty cool actually, no sponsors or anything, just something the local bands put together for the city every August.

Needless to say, in Southern Gerorgia, this is the kind of place where they cook enough BBQ to feed a school of whales. I ate like a fucking caveman. I had at least a pound of green apple BBQ pork and pineapple-honey grilled chicken.

 

BBQ is definitely next on my list of things I want to be good at making

I feel like I'm in a good zone to have a good teacher

 

I also really want the hat Vince Wilfork had in his retirement video that just said RIBS

North Carolina has some good BBQ

 

Chicago has some okay BBQ. While the city does have it's own style, I'm not a fan of it. All of my favorite places mimic other regional styles.

 

You guys ever heard of Famous Dave's?

I'm mixed on North Carolina BBQ. Love pulled pork & ribs but not a fan of the vinegary sauce they use. Tomato-based is where it's at. That weird mustard shit they serve in South Carolina is the worst. Maryland's thing is pit beef, which is just smoking deli meat. It's good but some places fuck it up and serve some dry-ass roast beef sandwiches.

Working my way around Illinois BBQ. Been eating BBQ at home at a lot more since I haven't found a place I like yet.

 

We are in this weird bizarro world where the NFL's latest statement is completely right, and yet the NFL is also completely wrong

 

It's addicting man. I bought a smoker about 5-6 years ago and now I do competitions every other month.

 

That sounds amazing, I hope I can get on that level
