I think he's improved in the youth aspect. Brett Connolly played with Marchand and Bergy for like 75% of the year (not like that's a good thing), Vatrano and Pasta were handled well, Spooner was given big minutes despite being a defensive disaster, he trusts Acciari and Ferraro on 4th line duty, etc. It was a valid criticism in the past, but not now.

I do fault him for throwing old man Dennis and Glass Quaider out in key situations, but the defense is fundamentally flawed (see: Neely, Cam)

Oh trust me, those two haven't escaped my jaded glaze by any means. How Don can say this team doesn't need a major roster overhaul is just outright offensive. Excited to see Loui get 4 years at 6 per too.

All my Southern California family are Kings friend and my best fan is one also. This series could ether be great or torture.

    Sharks east.

Sounds like most if not all injured Ducks players will be ready for game 1. Swedish Jesus Rickard Rakell ready to make some magic.

Watching Drouin out there against Detroit in game 1 makes me wonder how in the world that situation got to be so bad earlier in the year. I don't know if he was just playing lazy (I don't follow Tampa closely) or what it was exactly, but he was one of Tampa's best players last night. I cannot believe no team offered up a good enough deal to pry him away, because the kid is going to be good.

Boston's downfall is really weird. They were the team to beat for a couple years. Injuries haven't been kind to them, and age catches up eventually, but every time I see them play against Detroit they seem to look really good. As a Red Wings fan, I would have rather played a team like the Rangers than a team like Boston in the first round this year, but no one would say Boston is better than New York... weird how limited viewings of a team can shape your perspective.

I would guess that team defense was a problem for Boston this year? It's too bad they didn't get a better return for Hamilton, because it doesn't seem like they ever got a defenseman to plug into his spot this year.

There's no way Perron is 100%. Nashville is going target his shoulder for sure.
