Don't really see a downside in the Kemp trade. Worst case, Braves blow $15MM more on Kemp's contract instead of making another Markakis-like signing with that money instead. Best case, Kemp does enough that he turns into prospects in the winter.

Rarely do you get to do a physical on a player before you complete a trade. Imagine the chaos it would be for a player to go from city to city doing physicals before a trade is agreed upon. Teams rely on the info they get from the other team about the players health, look at their physicals and then agree to trade. They do a physical when the player comes to town. You do not want to be a team known for trading damaged players and saying "whoops, too bad" it will completely kill how every team looks at you, trades with you, and FA will be weary of going to a team that treats others that way.

It's not an issue with Nimmo or Bruce. It's an issue with one of the low level prospects the Mets are giving up. Not worried.

Some assholes on ESPN trying to say the Yankees move players like Judge and Mateo for Sale. They still won't hit for the next two years, I don't care how good a pitcher you get. If they fuck up and blow up the farm system they just got, I may be done with them.

 

Sometimes things show up in the medical files sent. A team may notice a small thing on an MRI that makes them weary even though the other team sent it. It might be nothing, it might be something. Sometimes teams do get to do a physical before hand, but that is an offseason thing. During the season it does happen, but not that often, rarely happens during the deadline deals.

The guy PITCHED for the team. They had plenty of time to look at him...it wasn't until he got hurt that the marlins "found something". This is a pretty unprecedented thing, at least i've never heard of this in my life. I'm just saying if I had to pick the "who looks worse from this" team, I'd say the Marlins.

 

My stomach is going to be in such a knot the next 90 minutes hoping the Yankees don't try to get Sale. He's awesome but pointless on this team. Keep the talent and develop til you can potentially add two great players from the 2018 free agent class. Stop pretending you can win the World Series every year. Only news I want to hear is Beltran being traded for anything. Anything at all lol. And Nova. Take 50 dollars for him if you have to.
