hope is here. We are not going to be worse than last year so the AL Central better be ready

 

I love baseball more than I love my team. (Detroit Tigers) And I am really looking forward to the Cubs season. I subscribe to MLB.tv and I know I will be tuning in a lot to the Cubs.

Also, I am trying really hard to restrain myself from buying MLB The Show 16. I have '15 and the adult in me is telling me it should suffice for a few years, but I love baseball so much that I don't know if I can.

The EW podcast I have listened to a few times, but I can listen to baseball podcasts too much, although its my fav sport. I prefer more to just read Fangraphs.

 

As a Cards fan, I'm excited to see what happens with the Cubs this year. As much as I hate to say it, I want to see them win it all this year.

Haha I wrestled with that opinion for a bit but when I thought about it, I'd honestly like to see all those generations of Cubs fan see a title in their possession after so many years.

 

I think I'm so selfish that we would have to be below .500 going down the stretch for me to even think about rooting for any team other than the Cards to win it all, much less the dreaded Cubs

 

You ought to come for a game some time this year, make the pilgrimage!

 

I went many many times when I was a kid, but haven't gone since 2010 I think? We usually just check out Cards-Reds in Cincy since it's so much closer. But yeah, definitely due for a return to Busch.

 

We could go to Ballpark Village and laugh at how much of a tourist/money trap it is.

I'm an incredibly casual baseball fan who barely knows any players, but I'm gonna follow this thread 'cause I wanna be more of one, and my friends are all casual fans at best. Hopefully I'm not too intimidated by lifelong avid fans.

Next time I'm either at a game or at one of the bars, I will try this. For the thread. For science.

 

One of my biggest regrets ever was not buying a Game 7 ticket in 2011 and making the drive to catch the game.

Andrew McCutchen. He's good, he's humble, and he's friends with Christian rapper Lecrae. Maybe an obvious choice for a Western PA person, but who cares, lol. Jung-ho Kang is cool, too.

 

@Tim good choice. Not a Pirates fan but definitely a fan of him for the reasons you mention, seems like such a good dude. Funny story: my dad always jokes about how he's our relative because my grandmother's(his mother) maiden name is McCutchen. My dad kinda has a lame sense of humor.

 

So, your dad makes dad jokes? Sounds about right.

McCutchen is at a lot of Christian rap concerts I go to in Pittsburgh, and it's always fun to see the crowd look up to his section and chant for him between sets. I know it's lame, but it feels cool watching the same performance that he's watching, lol.
