Always a good idea to watch the Braves on mute.

Really surprised he hasn't been called for a balk, or has he?

Uribe just got carted off after getting nailed in the balls by a hopping grounder.

Ike Davis? Ugh just leave Refsnyder over there and see what you have in him. Let him hit... Look out everybody, the Yankees got Ike Davis. World Series favorites now. So damn pointless.

Ike Davis is a scourge. I don't think I dreaded an at bat by a New York Met more than when Ike Davis was at the plate

In what is likely his final rehab start Tim Lincecum gave up 1 hit in 7 innings. I'm excited to see what he can do with the Angels.

I'd rather they call up Swisher and his useless knees. At least he's entertaining. What a panic signing. Lol Ike Davis.

The crazy thing is, it's completely legal. His foot stays on the rubber through the entire delivery and he sets himself after that initial step. He apparently doesn't even know why he does it. He calls it a "false step"

Can't copy the Twitter handle on mobile but:

Juan Uribe (testicular contusion) said no BP today. Asked why he doesn't use a cup, he said: "I don't think the trainers have my size." Oh.

So Scherzer has struck out the first 8 of 9 Cubs batters, the one was a ground out. Might be one of those nights.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

Not a Cubs fan by any means but I would love to be in Chicago if/when they win the World Series. The weight lifted off that team would be incredible to witness.

Oh I have nothing against the team. I don't think they'll be facing my Yankees at any point in the playoffs so I'll root for them lol. It's to be expected such a long time underdog does this with bandwagon fans after such a dry spell. I mean look at the Royals, and the Cubs are a way bigger brand name.

I just wanted to post this tweet bc of the gif. It's the only entertaining thing the braves have done this season.

I think sometimes people forget that the Cubs truly have a national fan base as a result of being on WGN for so many years. Many people grew up watching Cubs games even if they grew up nowhere near Chicago or without any ties to Chicago/Illinois at all.

I was always impressed when the Cubs were awful with how well Cubs fans seemed to show up to away games, so I'm not surprised at all that even more people are coming out now to watch really good baseball.

Of course, I can understand how that can be annoying to fans of hometown teams.

I was walking to a vigil on capitol square here in Madison for the Orlando shooting and looked at the MLB At Bat app and saw that Scherzer had 5 Ks through 2 innings and told my girlfriend that the Cubs were in for a really, really rough night. I'm just glad we didn't get no hit or 20 K'd.

    BOO

This is mostly me (not really because of WGN). I'm born and raised in Vegas, although I lived in Indiana for two years as a kid (never went to Wrigley, though. ugh). My dad is a lifelong Cubs fan as well, though. A big part of their West Coast fandom is spring training previously being on Catalina Island according to my Uncle. He's a Dodgers fan and hates how many Cubs fans live there lol.
