That's what I thought, umm, but there's clearly a difference between an 'accidental yet malicious play" vs a guy PUNCHING SOMEONE IN THE FACE

It is hard to believe Joe Nathan was signed by an MLB team

Agreed there's definitely a difference, it just seems excessive when Bautista obviously wasn't injured or gonna be out for an extended period of time or anything. I'm curious what Bautista gets since he clearly was rearing up to throw one too, plus the slide was obviously illegal and he'd been warned before.

Also it looks like Andrus got 1 game for throwing a punch.

He was great for us for a few years surprisingly.

I mean a slight with intent to injury is still a baseball play. Straight up slugging someone in the face isn't. Soooo yeah haha.

True, true. As I said, it just seems excessive to me but i guess that's pretty standard. It's just kinda funny cuz Andrus gets 1 for punching Pillar and Odor 8 cuz it's Bautista. Wonder if it matters the size of the stardom of the player? Interesting to me.

What did Bautista get? Also if Bautista had thrown a punch and missed and still got clocked by Odor do you think they'd get the same suspension?

Chavez gets 3 games. I'm guessing Bautista will get somewhere in the middle with 5 or so?

    No suspension for Pillar/Donaldson.

Watch Bautista get off because that punch was punishment enough.

    Honestly probably not

Honestly I feel like they should get the same. It's obvious that if Bautista was faster he would have clocked Odor. Also it was very satisfying to watch his sunglasses pop off.

Bautista won't get the same. 3 games is my guess

I'm sure lots of players would take an 8 game break for being able to punch Bautista in the face.

I'm glad baseball has gotten a lot of attention the past couple days because of that punch. Man, stuff like this needs to happen more often.

Be nice to see Harper get pitched to. Was looking forward to him vs. Arrieta and that was boring (no I don't fault them for strategy)

Maybe I missed something or don't get it, but why do so many people dislike Bautista? I doubt it's just because of last year's bat flip. Granted, I'm not a fan of any Blue Jay rivals and I've always liked him as a player.

As a Yankees fan, I don't dislike him even. And the bat flip was kind of in a big moment, can't fault him for that. Other than laughing at what he expects to get paid after this season, I have no other issue with him lol.

Jesus, Max. I actually had a feeling he'd struggle with the Mets line-up/style.

Yes, at some point in these 120 games remaining the Braves will win two in a row.
