HAHA that'd be a miracle. That person would surely win NL Manager of the Year by far and then likely get fired for not allowing them to get that #1 draft pick.

Hey! We're going to trade all of your best players and then fire you bc you can't win with this garbage team we have given you!

    That is so shitty haha

It's really stupid. The way front offices handle managers and coaches in pro sports defy logic.

Well, if anything goes wrong clearly it's the coach's fault because the front office isn't gonna take responsibility for shitty personnel decisions

Excited and nervous for this series against the Nats. The Cubs had a pretty weak April schedule, so this is the biggest test so far.

Interestingly, the Cubs Pythagorean W-L is 22-4.

    Give what you can.

I'll be fine with splitting this series. I was hoping for 2 of 3 in Pittsburgh and that worked out so I'll just keep on aimin' low.

Still respect the Red Sox for giving Shaw the 3b job out of spring training while the Yankees would be better off just putting a wet paper bag out at third but they refuse to take Headley's job away.

Okay, so, if you'll like baseball and also like books, you might want to get Ben Lindbergh (538) and Sam Miller's (Baseball Prospectus) new book The Only Rule Is It Has to Work: Our Wild Experiment Building a New Kind of Baseball Team

If you're hesitant, here's two excerpts to give you a taste of what the book is about. Read them in this order:
