  21. Searched the site to see if anyone had discussed this EP. I should've known it would be you haha. Seems like our tastes align pretty closely in the singer/songwriter sphere.

I loved the last two Moakler records, so I was kind of disappointed when I saw that he was going full-on pop-country, but I'm enjoying the EP way more than I expected to. He's just a great songwriter.

I really like the EP. I think that style of summer-y pop country suits him really well. I also don't think it's that much of a departure from what he was doing on Wide Open. The hooks are maybe a little bigger, but yeah, he's definitely still writing at the same level, and I think his voice is pretty unique as well. Glad someone else here listens to him! Definitely one of the artists I've been playing the most this spring.

  23. Yeah I agree his voice fits that style, and it's not too much of a jump from Wide Open. I read an interview where he said he had a full-length album's worth of songs recorded, but he was just going to release an EP first to introduce himself to the country crowd. I'm hoping we get the rest of the album soon.

I hope so too. I keep wishing it was a full-length.

Hardly surprising he went more in this direction. I mean, one of the songs on Wide Open he sold to Dierks Bentley.
