I wouldn't be shocked if he changes his mind, Texas also has no state tax.....

 

Has to be another move coming for Carolina unless they expect another young defenseman to be on the roster full-time next year. Not sure why they would buy him out otherwise since they need his cap hit to reach the floor.

Tampa has like 12m in space but most of that will probably go toward extending kuch and Hedman anyway.

 

McKeown is the only young guy that makes sense. He had a good season but I thought he'd play in Charlotte for a year first.

 

and Francis has been pretty adamant about letting players develop in the AHL. Slavin & Pesce were just too good to send down last year. I'm just wondering who they're looking at since free agency has never been Carolina's thing. Maybe a trade?

 

I have no clue. As long as Murphy is traded I don't care who gets the last spot on the right side.

I know they'll likely sign it this summer maybe, but it won't hit the cap til 17-18

 

Honest question will we ever see the league move towards just pairing defenseman together not by what side they shoot?

I know quite a few teams are strictly lhd / rhd and nothing will ever change that.

 

Tampa has a handful of guys with contracts coming up. They need to go all in this year.

 

I think it's coaches preference. I know Peters likes to pair them up based on their shooting side. But some teams aren't as adamant.

Oh yeah I figured. I know Babcock is in love with that pairing matchup and same with Deboer.

I just wonder a day where people won't have to pay an arm and a leg just to get that rare top RHD and instead try two LHD top pairing.
