It's a joke from a Yankees fan who doesn't like getting shit for buying players. Which teams can and should do. I don't begrudge either of them (or Durant).

Holy hell the league is gonna suck next year though. And I think it's funny a 73 win team with the first "unanimous" all star needed to go get the second best player in the world.

 

oooooookay, that makes sense.

imagine if they get to the Finals and Durant has a spectacular series while Curry does what Curry has the last two Finals...

My friend (who's a psychotic basketball fan) feels the same way, his favorite teams are the warriors and the mavs lol makes me hate him 10x more for them being the team that helped. Dirk is his favorite player and the reason I never will play him one on one

 

It's a clunky analogy that doesn't really work, but the core of the Yankees' team from the Evil Empire/excessive payroll era was drafted (Jeter, Williams, Posada, Pettitte, Rivera).

Of the players Woj listed for Hornets, I think I'd take Zaza over the others. Jordan Hill as plan B.

I think our starting line up is set though. Kemba-Batum-MKG-Marvin-Cody.

Frank could make his way into Cody's spot, but Zeller has been improving every year. Could see somewhat of a breakout season.

 

Festus shouldn't be in the NBA. He needs some time in the D-league.

something i just started thinking of as the dust of this news settles - could this move be considered a lack of faith by management in the team they currently have? i mean, back to back Finals, best regular season record, back to back MVP, a bunch of young players... it's not like they need Durant to be / stay a great team.

obviously the name of the game is to always improve, but have we ever seen a great team make such a significant offseason move? Curry (and / or Green and Klay) maybe could / should theoretically take this as a slight to them that they aren't good enough.

 

Yankees drafted guys like Jeter, Bernie Williams, Pettite, Posada etc.

They bought a ton of players (Sabathia, Rodriguez) but outside of 2009 those bought players haven't won anything

 

Well Curry is no longer the best player on his team
