i actually think its pretty lame to hate durant at all and slander his name. Not a terrible dude, imo just mitigates his basketball lore, legacy, and maybe to some extent his respectability as a competitor

what if the GSW ownership / staff secretly are sick / getting sick of Curry and they use the KD signing as reason to not re-sign Curry next year...

So the Heat offered Wade 2yr 40M. If the Bucks can move Moose, I'd imagine they might go slightly higher to get him. Should be interesting!

So if GSW win a title next season, we will be able to safely say that they have won two titles by way of meeting a diminished Cavs lineup for number one and by having an unprecedented four max level players on their roster for number two.

 

It's a good career move for both players, it's just, as you said, Wade won championships. I don't think there has been a more important athlete to that city since Dan Marino, if that. Hence why I think it's worse. But also, how can you say someone should've lived in Oklahoma? That's just a horrible fate, basketball aside.

i think the basketball world - at least those who are shouting angrily about cancelling the season / just handing the title to GSW - needs to relax and settle down a whole lot.

remember the Heat "big 3" and how people were shouting about them going 82-0, it not being "fair" and all sorts of other stuff? remember how they lost to the Mavericks that first year? also how they weren't even the top seed in the East? and how they're one great Ray Allen shot away from being 1-3 in the Finals instead of 2-2?

it's not exactly the same comparison since GSW has already won a title with most of their lineup and are coming off a 73-win season, but signing Durant does not spell doom for the end of the league for the next 2-3 years. they'll have to find their rhythm and see how they work together. also, losing Bogut means there's NO ONE to guard the rim and we saw how well that worked the last three games of the Finals. teams will definitely be watching the tape of the WCF and the Finals to see how to beat this team.

do i still expect GSW to make it to the WCF and / or Finals? yes. do i understand why they're the favorite to win it all? yes. duh. but it's not a guarantee or a surefire thing. not even close.
