I was actually pretty happy with the effort from Cleveland on the second night of a road back to back. Missing some pieces in Love and Korver. Integrating JR into the mix. Would have liked to get the win since they got up to 15 points, but Harden and the Rockets stuck with it and got a nice win.

It also took TWENTY offensive rebounds from the Rockets to beat the Cavs. Let's be honest, if Love was playing, he would have gotten half those boards and the Cavs likely would have won. Some (A lot) of the offensive rebounds the Rockets got were just the Cavs being lazy and not even going for the ball. Even Lue said after the game, 'It's basketball 101, you have to box out.'

Here's hoping he doesn't get hurt within the first minute of action.

I know he still counts against the cap for Milwaukee. I don't know how the actual payments work. I'm pretty sure he walked away from his contract though.

yeah i just looked it up, 1.9 million a year until 2022. weird.

They must be responsible for a little more than the veteran minimum. That's pretty impressive negotiating by the player's union to have it where a player can just walk away and still be owed money. Most leagues would actually file a suit against the player and try to recoup payments.

yeah, i never really understood the financial aspect of how these situations work. he initially voluntarily retired because he was worried for his mental health in the long term which is fine and understandable, but then if he does that then i feel like he should forfeit whatever he has remaining on the contract. that is the only i really dislike about the nba and its guaranteed contracts.

I'm personally ok with it because I really don't feel bad for the owners and front offices. I like that for the most part contracts mean something unless there is a buyout agreement.

Reports are saying that Sanders will practice with the team, but play the majority of the remainder of the season in the D-League.

    Interesting.

They also traded gobert for cash a few years earlier, they got lucky that it balanced out.
