  1. That Brooklyn pick is 100% worth giving up for PG. Why is Boston clinging onto it?

  4. I'm talking long term in terms of a rebuild. In a five year plan or whatever, this is not a year we were expecting to win 55+ games. You are definitely still planning for your future when you're still working from a rebuild plan. If you're Boston's front office, you are weighing the chances to win the championship this year against the chances to win it on schedule following your rough plan. I understand these things change but virtually no one is under any illusions about the Celtics beating GSW or Cleveland in the playoffs. I just don't see how it makes sense to mortgage players that could help you win in a situation where you actually have any chance to win to get closer to winning but definitely not winning. Danny doesn't care about making the ECF. Which is as far as we're getting under any circumstance this year. So, work toward a time where can win.

The Sixers totally deserve mocking for this, and for not trading someone this past offseason when they could have gotten more value.

But at this point, it was either keep Noel for like $18 mil a year, let him walk for nothing, or trade him. I'd have preferred they trade him as a piece for something bigger, but this was the next best option

they want to draft more guards and then complain they can't beat the cavs

Your future is right now. Why are you talking rebuild? This will be third straight year Boston makes the playoffs. The team is rebuilt. Last year you won 48 games, this year will be a lot more. You have the chance to get a top 10-15 player which you can only dream that your Nets pick eventually becomes 5 years down the road (if ever). Why not do it now? When you are knocking on Cleveland's door.

  10. I do think PG is worth it if Danny thinks we can keep him long enough that he'll be contributing to a genuine contender. Absent that, nah. I don't think Butler would be a good move. I'm mostly arguing assuming the trade is for Butler.

  11. I mean whoever they draft with that pick won't be as good as George or Butler

  12. The future is whenever we actually have a chance to win the championship, which is not now, as we both agree

well yea but that's why all of it is just pointless posturing and ainge is a hoarder

pretty much this; the 1-2 year rental of PG or Butler will significantly more likely be better for the future than whoever they draft

So as a GM - who has the opportunity to get a top 10-15 player and is currently three games out of the No. 1 seed chasing a team without 2 starters and planning on resting their best player - you just say 'nah, we'll try later'???

    Ok.

  16. Guess we'll see! I don't know how you can say "this is Boston's big chance" and then also say "Boston has no chance at beating Cleveland." Those are mutually exclusive.

Anyway, like I said multiple times, I would be fine with a trade for PG, the only available player who I think would be worth it.

Yeah I disagree with that logic as well. I mean the Cavs and Warriors are obviously really good but I don't think either one is unbeatable in a seven game series. Plus the Celtics totally have the oppurtunity to get the one seed if you're adding Paul George and the Cavs are missing Love for the majority of the regular season left.

  18. No shit but what's the point if we don't win

It doesn't matter what I say. It matters what the Front Office thinks. I'm from Cleveland and a die-hard Cavs fan, so of course I think Cavs have no chance of losing to Boston, no matter what happens. But if I'm a team executive, and am sitting three games out of the No. 1 seed and have the chance to get a top 10-15 players, it's not even a question in my mind as to whether or not I pull the trigger. I was taking more issue with your 'rebuild' statements. Like, the team is rebuilt. Now it's time to make a major splash to put you in an even better position to win. Not, ah, we'll wait it out. Wait it out for what? LeBron is still the best player on the planet and Kyrie and Love are getting better, more experienced. It's going to be a while before Cleveland is out of the picture. Can't wait forever.

I'd love for Cavs to get Bogut and I'm assuming Bogut would only go to either Cavs or Spurs. He's ineligible to return to Warriors.
