You can't blame the Knicks for trying to get that Nets pick, but come on. The Knicks got screwed with bad timing when its come to trading Mello. The theoretical best time to trade him was when they were actually competing in the playoffs.

Yeah I feel like the knicks screwed themselves the next few years handing out shitty contracts this summer like the blazers did.

If the Clips said "We'll take him but not for Paul, Griffin or Jordan" and the Knicks didn't tell them to fuck off, I admit my Melo to the Celtics trade a few weeks ago was completely unrealistic lol

They should try to go after a future Clippers pick like 2020 or 2021. I have a feeling that team is going to be pretty bad in a few years.

The Clippers could only have to give up Austin, Jamal and maybe Wes Johnson, plus a future pick. Get Melo and, say, Jennings. Salaries would match. Start a lineup of CP-JJ-Melo-Blake-DJ. That'd be fun to watch. They should hang up the phone otherwise.

Even trading Reddick would be curious for the Clippers. He's a better fit in terms of usage and doing the little things as opposed to Mello.

Yeah, I don't think they have a pick until 2021, and that could end up being really valuable if Blake and/or Chris leave. They'd probably want to protect it.

They'd definitely be dumb to give up any of those four. Getting rid of Jamal would be a blessing, though.

Aside from never winning anything, Melo will be 33-years-old in May and he's owed $26.2 mil next season and $27.9 mil the season after that. For a team to trade for Melo, they'd have to give a large or two decent sized contracts back, which would mean trading an all-star or two really good players. Not sure why any team would do that.

Melo is a stat-stuffer, but not much else.

The Cavs essentially laughed at the Melo for Love offer. Love is averaging 20.5 and 11 as the third option on his team. Melo is averaging 22.7 and 6 as the first option on his team. Also only averaging one more assist per game. And Love is 5 years younger and a better fit on the Cavs.

even if both CP3/blake are there in 2021 for the pick they will both be 35/31 years old at this point, who knows if they play at the same level they are at now.

I think it's pretty apparent that what the Knicks need to get back and what other teams can/would offer won't line up. Until the Knicks want to salary dump for a pick, I don't see there being much to really discuss.

I feel like they are so desperate to get this line-up past the 2nd round that they'd ignore the future.

Man, The Bulls' situation is just getting uglier.

First Butler and Wade call out some teammates (mainly Mirotic, Zipser) in the media.

    Now Rondo posts this.

As right as Rondo probably is, this not the way to go about it. This is probably a move to get bought out and attempt to go to a contender. I know Cleveland (gulp) has been monitoring him.

Honestly, I think Rondo wouldn't be a terrible pick up for the Cavs though. He's been playing Rondo ball with the Bulls' second unit...because the shooters are all in the second group and the Bulls have an athletic back up center. He would fit right in with the Cav's camaraderie with LeBron as a leader. Rondo would probably do wonders with their second unit considering how many shooters and athletic guys are on that team.

I actually feel bad for him on this Bulls team. With their timeline of signing him, they told him they were wanting to get younger and more athletic. They didn't do that. Instead, They give him zero shooters in that starting 5, Wade fell into their laps, and its become a Butler/Wade show. As far as his attitude, there hasn't been one negative thing said about him being a bad teammate or not working hard. He actually gets praised for that.
