Finally listening to JJ's podcast. I'm so in on this. The episode with Adam is amazing, can't wait to get emotional listening to Brandon Roy.

Pacers can clinch the 7 seed tonight, but I don't know if I'd rather have them play Toronto or Cleveland. Cleveland obviously has the better lineup, but they've absolutely never had an easy time with Toronto either.

Still expect them to be swept either way.

Hey @Jason Tate, not sure if you dabble in Chris Mannix's Vertical podcast, but he had Detlef Schremph on this week. Along with it being a good listen, I wanted to get your take on the Portland team he was on.

  9. I haven't listened to any of his podcasts, my podcast listening has taken a hit lately. I'll add it to the never ending queue. Heh. He played for the Blazers, what, like one season? Two? I think it was right when I was leaving for college and that was the Maurice Cheeks era of the team — definitely one of my least favorite eras of Blazer basketball of all time.

I feel you on the podcasts. My Overcast queue is looking more like a line at Cedar Point these days. I may just have to cut some out or pass on certain episodes.

Apparently, he was on the Dunleavy team that lost to the Lakers in the playoffs. He was pretty blunt in saying the leadership sucked despite him, Steve Smith, and Scottie being on that team. Came across somewhat critical of Wallace and Wells, but they were "different" personalities to put it lightly haha. He was mostly critical of management though.

I couldn't even remember half the podcasts I listened to when I had time to just sit down and listen to whatever. I ended up just watching Louie and passing out.

  12. If memory serves that was the Bob Whittsit or however you spell it era ... management ... the Vulcans ... were not good. I'll have to find that episode.

  13. There's potential for chaos tomorrow. If Hornets win at home to Magic, Celtics win at home to Heat, and Hawks lose at Wizards there will be a 4-way tie for the third seed.

Damn, not likely the Wizards will win.

Luckily I work a job where I can have headphones or a speaker plugged in for the 8-10 hours Im in my office so I can listen to endless podcasts, and even added a lot of those Vertical podcasts. Was going to listen to that Detlef episode tomorrow.

  16. I doubt it.

But if they did, how does a 4-way tie-breaker work?

TIEBREAKER BASIS WHEN MORE THAN TWO TEAMS ARE TIED:

(1B) Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division)
(2B) Better winning percentage in games against each other
(3B) Better winning percentage against teams in own division (only if tied teams are in same division)
(4B) Better winning percentage against teams in own conference
(5B) Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in own conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position)
(6B) Better net result of total points scored less total points allowed against all opponents (point differential).

Not a Laker fan by any stretch but I am probably going to cry when Kobe walks off the court a final time.

Together We'll Fight the Long Defeat Supporter

Well, in the East it is virtually a two team race for the 3 seed. Miami won tonight, and Miami needs ATL to lose and they need to beat the Celts to grab the 3 seed. Hornets are locked in at the 6 seed or 5 seed depending on a Miami win tomorrow, and Boston can't get higher than 4.

  24. I think the best case scenario is Celtics beat Heat and we beat Magic to setup a first round matchup against Boston.

I like this scenario very much. Anything to keep the Hawks in the 3 seed.
