yeah dude, it’s tough. Thankfully, no kids involved with my sister. That sounds awful. Also, they are breaking up on very mutual/friendly terms so I hope he’ll be willing to keep me in his life but I can understand if it would hurt too much.

have you spoken to the dude at all in the last 7 years? A decade long friendship sucks to lose

 

Just saw him on Halloween. They brought their son to my neighborhood to trick or treat. We’ll still talk when we are actually in the same room together (once or twice a year) and we’ll still joke around and get along really well but it’s kind of awkward at the same time. Too much legal drama between him and my sister and child custody and stuff. It was really, really bad and messy when they broke up. It wasn’t his decision and he kind of lost his mind. Like, totally turned into a different person. They definitely weren’t ready to have a child when they did and their relationship drastically changed once it happened.

But I always think about how cool it’d be if nothing ever changed.

also, I fully realize this is selfish of me and it’s ultimately my sister who has to make decisions that make her happy.

I've never been on a dating site so I don't know what it's like to be 'ghosted' as the kids say, but I'm the king of getting ghosted on all these buy, sell, trade websites.

Supposed to sell a crib for $100 tonight - had a meeting spot and time with the buyer all set. Go to message them this morning to make sure we're still on. Crickets.

This happens ALL the time.

I also learned that I swipe yes for like every person who says they're a child therapist or works with kids. Glutton for punishment.

 

Running my first marathon on Sunday and the girl I sometimes go running with that I met a few months ago while running texts me today that she signed up last minute for the marathon (cool) and asked if she can stay in my hotel room and hitch a ride with me (it’s two hours from where we live) (not cool).

I have not spent more than 2 hours at a time with this woman and no more than 4 hours in a week, and literally all we do is meet up and run and then that’s it. I am not game, on such short notice especially, to have to contend with driving 2 hours there, spending the night with her, sleeping in the same hotel bed and then getting up and running a marathon and then dealing with her for another 7-8 hours after including another 2 hours in the car.


So long story short I lost my running buddy today lol

The girl I've been talking to for 2ish weeks now has been having a rough and anxious few days and she hasn't been talking to me that much so she can focus on herself for a while. It feels so jarring not talking to her all day, as we usually have back and forth conversations. She told me this yesterday after being gone for hours and she texted me this morning about something and has been silent since. I know things are probably stressful on her end but I'm starting to get worried about both her and us as she has said like 4 things in the past 48 hours.
