I wish synth/keys were incorporated allow over Resurrection and Radiosurgery.

Finally gave this thing a full listen. Really big improvement over Radiosurgery and Resurrection. But it's still nothing amazing imo.
I'll give it a few more listens, but right now the only songs I find myself coming back to are Antisocial, blurred vision and the sound of two voices.

sounds like you might wanna give up on nfg then. i think the last 3 albums have incorporated all of NFG's 'sounds', you dont think so?

I think they've actually done a really good job disassociating themselves with Steve. Maybe not in the music but like in all of their promo and music videos and live performances and stuff they seem really natural as a four-piece

    For me at least

TBH, I never really took Steve as a major piece to this band aside from being a rhythm guitarist to help fill the sound and add a little energy onstage. I found out over the years A LOT of the stuff I love about this band's music was that Chad and Cyrus actually had a lot to do with it. I just find it funny how Steve took credit for stuff he didn't do.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

If they add a 5th member I think the way the 1975 do it would be best since they've toured as a four piece for 3+years. Or the way Green Day does it.

I'm confused at everyone saying they need a live rhythm guitarist, doesn't the rhythm guitarist for Set Your Goals do guitar tech and plays side stage for them? I know he did it for the first couple tours after Steve was gone, thought he was still there.

I'm confused at all this rhythm guitar talk... I don't believe they ever had someone play with them post-Steve. I've seen them a few times every tour since and they didn't have anyone. A few times it was a tiny club where no one could hide. I even asked Chad during the M&G about his tone since I think it sounds so huge and he was like "ahh man, thanks, i just play loud and play with passion. That's our secret for huge sound." Justin does play keyboards, but you probably just see him tuning or checking guitars.

    Here's an article with Chad:

"When we came to Florida for the cruise, we practiced for two days. We were kinda like, "Alright this is going to be our first practice as a four-piece and we'll see how it goes." We thought on slow songs, Jordan could play some if we needed it. And then Justin (Ksionzek), who's my guitar tech (and road manager) and played guitar for Set Your Goals on tour, if we need it we can have him play it on the side. But after practice we were like, "It's really not missing anything." It sounded so good that we were like, "You know what, let's keep it like this." We always knew we would keep it as a four-piece.

There was never any thought, nor will there be any thought or consideration to ever have a fifth member. It's always going to be the four of us. As far as live, we're figuring it out, but we like it better than having an extra person. It's definitely easier to worry about us four than trying to find someone."

Saw them tonight. Definitely don't have a second guitarist though I do think that would be very welcomed. They played Party On Apocalypse. I wish they would have played a few more new songs because they are always stuck in my head
