    I'm tired.

Yes, the original bpm is 95, so stick with that.

Separate vocal and guitar please. :)

I'll finally get into my cover this week. Hectic weekend, was called on last minute to fill in lead vocals for my friend's band. The lead singer had to bounce from the gig because his wife was having their baby. Crazy experience.

  5. classic Brad... finished the compilation's artwork before even getting started on my song

    I'm tired.

I'm giving a deadline myself. If by the 14th I don't have enough submissions to finish the Good Riddance collab, I'll forfeit it to anyone else who wants it.

Is there any parts in particular you're in need of? Has anybody submitted anything to you?

  11. JakeRabin

    I'm tired.

Not yet, mainly vocals. I can handle violin, but if anyone wants to give a guitar track I wouldn't be opposed either.

I'll lay down some vocals Monday or Thursday... I'll be happy to do any other tracks you need (aside from guitar, I don't have an acoustic and hate the acoustic sims on my amp modeler).

Might just do FOD, this is a personal dragon of mine and I want to dedicate more time to that. It was one of the first songs I tried to learn on guitar, but once the chorus hit, i realized i couldn't sing and play guitar at the same time. So I got frustrated and discouraged from it after that. I never had any reason to cover it til now.

  14. i need to work on my songs more this week. i have the bass and drums done for "welcome to paradise" so that's a good start!

Eugh. I've had things come out of nowhere, it's clearing up now so hopefully I can nail it down this weekend.

I'm almost done with Coming Clean (need to dub a few vocal spots and mix). I think I'm going to switch my second song from Panic Song to Hitchin' A Ride.

Hey how does everyone usually schedule out this out?

Like, how much time do you spend practicing the song, before you start recording?

Then where do you start when you record?

For FOD, I'm thinking of starting at the chorus or the bridge.

I think if I map this out like a goal, I'd stop procrastinating

I'll start this weekend I promise.

@therookielot my problem is I don't schedule it out haha. Depending on how technical the song is I might just jump right in and start tracking the instrumentals.

  23. I usually start a week or two before it's due. i at least learn/write the song (i like writing my own music to the original's same melody/lyrics) and get the bass and drums programmed. then eventually i record the guitars. and then i procrastinate hard on the vocals (because it's my least favorite part), and then that usually goes horribly, i get frustrated, and then just do a half assed/last minute job on it. hahaha. sometimes i don't work on it at all until the week (or days) before it's due.

  24. For these comps specifically, I usually pick songs I've already tried learning or already know how to play at least the guitar and/or bass parts for. I take a week or two to learn the other parts I want to do (usually drums, which I have the least experience with) and practice. I generally just record the song in order from beginning to end, one track at a time. I try to do the entire song in a single take for each instrument (since I'm also recording video for my YouTube channel) unless there's a part that's really giving me trouble. Sometimes I would record only a day or two before the due date haha
