Finally get to see them this Friday! Super excited to hear the Goodness songs now that it's getting warm out.

 

What an album

 

Finally seeing them tonight at a free UW thing in Madison. So pumped. This album is still just the best.

 

Goodness is basically an all timer for me already

 

I saw the top of this thread of me getting fooled about the covers EP and I'm mad all over again

 

that was cruel of me and im sorry haha

 

all good, im mostly mad at my gullibility that day and that it wasn't real because i was so excited for a minute hah. i just forgot it was april fools tbh

I have something I need to confess that's been eating at me since this record came out.

The explosion 3 minutes into End of Reel ("in the light of teh day when I can reset..." etc...).

Literally every time I have listened to this song, I have never been able to shake the feeling that this melody is fucking EXACTLY the same as the chorus to breakaway by kelly clarkson

eh don't hear it, melodies are similar but the chords underneath are different so it changes how the melody interacts with the harmony.

funny thing is i already get most things being in the mid atlantic
i can't even imagine life in the midwest haha

 

Christian is an avowed lover of a lot of that late 90s / early 00s pop-rock stuff like Kelly, Avril, etc. so I wouldn't be shocked if it was an intentional influence

 

he covered avril at a show before, pretty sure
he has great taste

 

when I saw them last summer all of the pre-show music was early 00s / late 90s female pop-rock chosen by Christian it was so awesome

 

I'm p sure he used to cover I'm With You by Avril at every acoustic show

but yeah, just another reason to love Christian

 

Avril is low-key goat he understands
