has to be a cool feeling/bond to love the same band as your kids. going to springsteen shows with my parents the first few times was nuts for them to even think about haha

Took them to a Panic! At the Disco concert a couple of weekends ago. It was great.

OK... If the last chorus was the chorus for the rest of the song I would be 100% there. I just really hate the choppy vocals, the cover up a lot of really cool instrumentation. And I guess deprive us of hearing Patrick belt that line a bunch.

I don't really like the song. Seems they're continuing to move in the "weird" direction, and it's a bit much for me.

so "fall out boy" producing this basically means patrick right? I know he's been building his own home studio since the reunion. "nervous break dance studios" or some shit.

edit: not downgrading the production input from other members btw.

THIS. Honestly, for me being a long time FOB fan it isnt even that i'm mad at the sound change bc its not what I listen to as much as it bums me out in the same way new LP bums me out where you have all of these amazing artist in each respective band, yet, i can only hear 2 or 3 members through the song.

    She haunts the roads

Not crazy about the vocal sampling in the chorus - THAT is not going to age well - but aside from that, I was very pleasantly surprised by this! I Like the dark, brooding nature of it, and real drums or no, the drumming here is interesting and dynamic and it sounds like Andy is, y'know, having fun for the first time in a while.

Take This to Your Grave is still the best, tho.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Wikipedia lists Jamie xx as a producer on the Mania album. Any idea of the source on this?

The song has grown on me a lot and now I can't stop listening to it. Though I hope and doubt the rest of the album will be like this. This would be interesting to see them play live, but I don't know if it would translate too well with all the dubstep stuff. Probably a good song to open a show with. Or maybe they could change the sound of it live to make it have more of a rock sound, that's something they did well with Centuries and other songs on AB/AP

I just think this specific song isn't for me... I respect that they're still pushing themselves, but that hook is just too jarring imo, not in a good way. There were songs from both the previous albums that I wasn't too into while still digging the albums themselves though... so I still have hope for MANIA.

I'm glad most people are digging it. I wish I could get into it but it's just not for me. I'm all for bands evolving but there's just nothing appealing to me about this song regardless of the band behind it.

Said this in the album thread but at while this isn't good, I'm glad they're at least trying something different. If this just sounded like Centuries again I probably would have lost all interest in the album but they managed to keep it despite me not liking the song.

Also the album cover is dope

Where's the post ranking the lead singles for each album? I think that usually pops up at this point. I'll start.

    0. Grand Theft (0 because I don't know if you can count a lead single for a band that didn't really get radio play until their "breakout" sophomore album)
    1. Sugar
    2. Arms Race (unless you count Carpal Tunnel that was posted on this site)
    3. I Don't Care
    4. My Songs
    5. Centuries
    6. Young & Menace
    4 1 5 0 6 2 3

Hate on Young and Menace all you want but it's much better than I Don't Care. Which is interesting to note that everyone's favorite album on this site lately seems to be FAD and it's got the worst lead single in my opinion.

Probably the worst singles period. America's Suitehearts is one of my least favorites on that album.

Good wee interview with Pete. He says Young and Menace is probably the furthest left-field song on the album.

Showed this song to my daughter and step-daughter. To be honest, I wasn't sure how they were going to feel about it. Needless to say, my daughter wanted to listen to it on repeat the whole way to school this morning. My favorite part about showing it to them is my daughter was talking about how different it was and that she liked the fact that it didn't sound like anything off of AB/AP.

Conversation with my 8 year old daughter about the song (paraphrasing):

Me: So, did you like the song.
Eisley: Yes, it's very different and I really thought it was going to sound like something off of their last CD.
    Me: What do you mean?
Eisley: I thought it was going to sound like that Centuries song.
Me: Oh okay. What do you like about the song?
Eisley: (this is an exact quote) "I like that it sounds like a rock n roll song and a pop song, because my friends at school think I'm weird because I like rock music and this song sounds like a song that could be on the radio."
Me: It's okay to like what you like
    Eisley: I know

Hard for me to believe that this kind of conversation was had with an 8 year old, but there are still people that say dumb stuff like "how are they gonna play this live" or "where are the drums at"
