I went today and it looked like they were cleaned out for everything RSD related so I was just happy to grab these two albums.

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

I had a pretty great day on Saturday and it was also my first time actually going out on RSD. Only things I couldn't find were the Danny Brown picture disc and Toto Africa Single which I'm not that upset about. I ended up with these:

Balance & Composure - Slow Heart
Coheed & Cambria - Good Apollo
Alice In Chains - Get Born
    Space Jam Soundtrack

The Space Jam and Coheed pressings are gorgeous. Weirdly there were a lot of Space Jam copies left when I got in the store (Bull Moose Portsmouth). I was lucky enough to snag the last copy of Coheed and there were 2 copies of B&C left when I got there. I wasn't even that far back in line luckily since I only showed up 10 min before opening.

Then some non-RSD stuff from the B&C, From Indian Lakes, Queen of Jeans show:

From Indian Lakes - Wanderer EP
Queen of Jeans - S/T EP

It's painfully slow, but they seem to have a good bit available.

Dammit! I missed space jam again. Looks like I'll be trying to find it on eBay.

What's the whole craze over Space Jam? Is it simply 90's nostalgia?

Pretty much. That's half the game of Record Store Day nowadays. Putting re-issues out of stuff people are nostalgic for in some way or another about $5-$20 above what a normal release would be. There are some exceptions to that rule (i.e., Sea Change 7"), but it's become such a cash grab for labels nowadays.

My only RSD related purchases so far this year were through the Deathwish RSD sale they had for this weekend. I picked up:

-5 random LPs for $15. Hoping for some sweet Blacklisted releases in there.
-Planes Mistaken for Stars - "Prey" LP
    -Converge - "Jane Live" 2xLP

Long shot because I can't find a single one online, but if anyone here has a copy of A Fine Frenzy's "Bomb in a Birdcage" they'd be willing to sell, I'm trying to snag one as a wedding gift for my fiancée.

Nostalgia for sure. Not to mention, the pressing is beautiful. Space Jam was a huge part of my childhood, easily still one of my favorite movies.

It makes sense. I guess the movie just wasn't as big of a deal for me.

I am buying all the Castlevania and Silent Hill OST's being released though, so I get the whole nostalgia thing.

Every kid in the 90s loved Space Jam. I'm super happy with my purchase

As much as I am wanting space jam, I'm gonna wait it out a bit and I'm assuming prices should drop a little. Flippers are the worst. Someone offered to trade me the space jam copy he had for the toto picture disc, but my girlfriend was so stoked on toto I couldn't do it haha.

  16. Gave up on Bull Moose... had TH&TH in my cart at 10:01 and the damn site wouldn't let me check out for over an hour.

    I didn't have any issues.

Glad a got that B&C. It was bugging me this weekend.

Space Jam was a cool release in a year that didn't have very many cool releases. Still, I'm surprised it's a must-have for so many people.

I woke up and managed to order Space Jam on SRC Sunday morning, really glad I ended up being able to get it. There's some great songs on there, along with it being an incredible nostalgia trip

I hope you get Jane Live, too. Incredible live album.

Space Jam, I loved the movie as a kid, but I probably have seen it since I was like 10 haha. Plus, I don't own the first soundtrack, though it would be cool to own this for nostalgic purposes, I know I would never listen to it.

I might have an extra if you still need one.

EDIT: looks like they are going back and adding stock/availability, so I might keep checking back for a bit.

I picked up a few things on record store day.

    Sunny Day Real Estate
    Neil Young
    Townes Van Zandt
    Pineapple Express
    War on Drugs

Got everything I wanted, other than Coheed, which has another version coming out this week anyway.

My goal this year was to not make any purchases that I will regret or will listen to once and not play again. I think I succeeded, so I'm happy

Managed to score the Thrice 7" and Darkest Hour 7" on Bull Moose. For once, my incessant need to refresh pages constantly pays off.
