I've honestly been thinking about this all day. Damn, I wish I had that dream

I seriously haven't been able to shake it. It was so vivid. Not sure how Christmas tied into it being that it's April. Dreams are so weird.

The snowy setting is really what's captivating me. Krampus was a good comparison, but I'm imagining a conspiracy that's more grounded and less festive and it is giving me the willies

That's how it felt. Like, it wasn't a monster or killer or anything like that. Everyone was just gone. It was snowy but the houses didn't have decorations from what I recall, just opened doors and silence.

Exactly what I'm picturing. Chris, you need to write!

That show gave me the idea to spell shit on the fridge with those magnets and freak my sister out when we were younger. I'd tell her that Ghostwriter did it.

Oh wait, you mean you used to spell random things and say it was ghostwriter? I thought you meant as a child you would use the magnets to literally spell the word "shit" and be like, "It must be that dastardly ghostwriter, sis!"

Yes the word shit. It used to rearrange the magnets to spell out clues and that was the only curse word we knew at the time. So she thought the ghostwriter was real and came to our house to spell shit on the fridge every night.

Now after talking about creepy dreams I had one that was the Purge like. I was kind of a badass tho and also my house in it was super fancy so that was cool

I love those movies. No shame. That scenario is terrifying to me.

Ever since I was about 17 I've "suffered" from relatively frequent occurrences of sleep paralysis. While I've experienced hearing voices and shit, I'm usually able to get myself out of it before anything too crazy can happen. My most recent experience, however, took a turn for the worse.

I was sleeping on my back (which almost always guarantees an episode of SP) and I started feeling it coming over me. It's hard to articulate what it's like falling into paralysis but it feels like there are slow pulsing waves of energy going through my body as I start to lose control. However, I can usually, at the very least, wiggle one of fingers and I try to focus on that cause I'm terrified of being fully paralyzed. Anyways, I was on my back with my head turned to the right, eyes incredibly heavy, and for the first time in my life I was able to open my eyes while experiencing sleep paralysis. When I opened them what I saw honestly terrified me more than anything I have ever experienced in my life. Crouched in front of me was a cloaked woman, her skin a nauseous green, her nose long and arched, and her eyes bulbous and completely white. I struggled to breathe but, because you are cognizant when experienced sleep paralysis, I was still able to operate somewhat logically so I closed my eyes and started repeating to myself, "this isn't real. this isn't real. this isn't real."

Finally, I mustered up the courage to open my eyes again, positive that she'd be gone.

Her face was now just inches away from mine. Her mouth wore a huge crooked smile. I gave everything I had to try and scream but next to nothing would come out. I have never felt so hopeless and trapped. I accepted the fact that I wouldn't be able to let out a scream so instead I just focused on the finger that I could still move and started rapidly moving it. Eventually I shot out of bed, gasping for air. I don't use this word frivolously but whatever I saw or whoever I saw felt fucking evil. I'm not religious or anything like that but Jesus fuck....that shit was malevolent. The fucked up part was that afterwards I googled sleep paralysis and the figure I saw and a lot of people see something very similar. I'm not sure if she was the "old hag" but I'm definitely not the first person to have an encounter like this.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying this means anything or is evidence of anything but it was scary as FUCK

This is absolutely terrifying. Is there anything out there that can help SP?

Reminds of something that happened to me when I was around 10 years old.

It was a really hot night and at the time my parents house didn't have central air. My bro and I would sleep on their floor on nights like this because they had the only window unit in the house. I was sleeping on my moms side, which was sort of caddy corner from their bathroom. My mom had this dark robe that hung on the back of the bathroom door, which was in view from where I was laying.

Hours into the night I experienced one of those, "falling dreams," that jolted me awake. For some reason I felt this sense of dread..I had dreams like that a billion times, but something didn't feel right. I began to focus on the robe on the back of the door, and all of a sudden it began to move slowly towards me. I remember thinking it was a shadow caused by a passing car or something so I closed my eyes for a second and looked again. It was STILL coming at me, moving around my dads corner of the bed towards my moms. I sat up and continued to stare as it moved closer. I remember it getting about 4 feet from me when I finally reached up to my moms nightstand and turned the light on. My parents jumped up and I noticed the robe hanging nicely on the back of the door. I remember feeling helpless because I knew my parents wouldn't buy my story, so I just told them I had a nightmare. Never again did I sleep on their floor. Lolol.

Not that I know of. It seems to happen if I'm either stressed, sleeping on my back, or taking a nap.

I've only had it happen a few times. Always on my back, and I think most often when I'm having a nap because I'm not quite tired enough to slip away from the real world completely, but my mind is still sleepy enough to get into that odd state, ya know? I've never seen anything scary though. One time the stand up fan next to my bed came off and started floating towards me, and another time my roommate came in the door and kept pacing around the room and talking to me about some nonsense while I struggled to move my head to keep him in my line of vision. That one probably would have been more effecting if it wasn't noon and if I wasn't in a well lit living room. I've always found the experience really cool, but I imagine seeing something like what you saw would take the fun away pretty fast

I've had sleep paralysis enough times that I kinda know when I'm having it, but the freakiest was when I had like a random audio hallucination. I was home alone and was in that weird state where you're in between sleep and awake, and suddenly I heard someone shout my name super loud. It sounded like they were standing next to me and yelling it in my ear and it sounded really urgent like someone was dying and needed help, or someone was trying to warn me of something. I shot up and my heart was racing so bad lol. It's never happened again tho
