awwww that's so mean! I think I'd be crushed forever if anyone told me that, let alone a musician I liked

I think William Beckett was the nicest musician I ever met (note: haven't met many). He has one of those super warm and friendly personalities that I call Cult Leader Personality lol. He looks into your eyes and makes you think he deeply cares about every word you're saying. People like that are so interesting to me tbh!

 

Dave Grohl being awesome doesn't surprise me at all!

I was friends with the guys in Inspection 12, who toured with Yellowcard in the early days. Ryan Key was always an asshole whenever I ran into him. Like an unbelievable asshole.

 

I love the direction of this thread. Everyone name drop immediately.

I'd make a terrible celeb tho. I'm guarded and shy and awkward so everyone would call me a bitch prob.

 

Honestly, I wish I was that personable. There was a guy I used to know who could walk into a room, talk to everyone, come back a year later and remember what he had talked to each person about a year earlier. I envy people like that. I forget everything.

 

I totally get the inclination of notable musicians to not want to talk to people after jumping around on stage for an hour every night playing the same songs over and over. I understand that now, but I didn't when I was younger.

 

I have a friend like that too. She just makes you feel so good about yourself from talking to her that you never want to stop. Taylor Swift has mastered this cult leader personality. I've always admired it and also resented it lol. Because I wish I was so personable, but then the cynical part of me wants to know what secrets they're hiding! Nobody is that nice all the time!!

 

I haven't met any super famous musicians. I did meet Ace Enders and he was really cool...someone I've always looked up to. I was also super drunk and prolly awkwardly enthusiastic.

Haven't met many celebs though. I guess sports celebs. I played basketball with Joakim Noah, Chandler Parsons, and Al Horford.

 

when I was like 12 I met Matt Thiessen (relient k) and he gave me some of his combos!

 

I feel bad when musicians who don't talk to fans after shows get branded as assholes. Or (and I believe this has happened a lot to Halsey) when they genuinely don't have time to stop and have to be somewhere and people get mad. Like damn, there are jobs to be done and commitments to be met. There's a difference between adhering to a tight and sometimes impossible schedule and being a jerk about it

 

Kid Cudi once told me he liked my Where The Wild Things are shirt, I think he was stoned though

I've only met Canadian musicians. Dan Mangan, Cold Specks, and Buck 65 were all very cool.
As far as other celebrities go, I've met Kevin Spacey and Rob Lowe briefly.

 

I think a lot of people in here have heard this story before, but Andrew McMahon recorded a video for a friend's son who was pretty much deathly ill with cancer at the time and they weren't sure if he'd survive. A year later we all come back with my friend and her son and Andrew remembered all of us and even remembered where the cancer was. Fucking incredible

 

I feel the same way when people aren't friendly and handing out autographs after a day of making movies, like hey we're all tired and standoffish after work

 

First name basis with many celebs. We work together. Thanks

I have another one! I went to see NFG, Midtown, and Hot Rod Circuit when I was in college and the place was packed to the brim. You could barely move. Some asshole walked across the crowd to the stage, in the process he stepped on someone's head and slammed him into the concrete stage.

Ian from NFG appeared to be the only one that saw it happen. He jumped on stage (Hot Rod was playing) and pulled the guy up by himself. The kid appeared to be fine but had a gash on his forehead. I heard later on that Ian brought the kid our back to their van and showered him with merch. When NFG played Hit or Miss the invited him onto the stage to sing along. I always thought that was awesome!

 

I have no idea how I missed that you're in Los Angeles as well. What do you do out here?

 

I mean, not to mention it again, but Britney Spears told me I have beautiful eyes.

 

Only ever really met members of one AP-ish band, and they were awful
