It's just insane how dismissive people are of very real problems in the scene, and trying to explain it to those people is draining. You would think by now they would be more attentive to the opinions of minorities but nah

I'm still thinking about this and it's killing me. And I'm going to throw this band out there because they've lost serious steam... is it Real Friends?

How come one parent is allowed with an under 16 year old - my daughter is 19 and I wanted to go free with her :/

 

Because your daughter can almost certainly drive herself and doesn't need a chaperone. It's really meant for parents who might be wary of letting their kids go alone, which I guess is a fair concern, especially with some of these bands...

 

19 is a bit old to play the free parent card, to be honest.

Truth. Maybe also the fact that under 16 can't drive themselves, and some venues may be kind of far out for a parent to drive to and from twice.

 

It's meant for supervision, for a chaperone, not for you to abuse it to get in for free. That's the reason it was taken away in the first place.

 

Yeah, ya'all don't messit up. I know in the past they've stretched the parent's get in free rule. In 2014 I remember talking to a girl in a wheelchair who's sister got in for free as a "parent" I got it offered to the guy who dropped me off once they saw I was a blind person. It's nice iguess but I'm grown. I don't need someone to watch me.

 

True. What if I brought my 14 yr old and 19 year old.... lol.

I just don't want to spend the day there, watching bands i know very little of. Its ok.
