I know it's not as simple as beating the teams we're better than, but with our schedule that's all it will take. Take a couple points off Pittsburgh/Minny/Columbus and win the matchups against NYI and Philly. Tough, but not impossible.

 

I can't believe how hilarious Colorado's goal differential is:

What happened to Colorado this year? They are bafflingly bad. Someone on Reddit posted a clip of them a few weeks ago trying to get the puck out of their own zone and it took them like 40 seconds with full possession at 5 on 5.

 

It's really crazy because coming into the season they didn't make any big changes to the roster, and were a projected fringe playoff team. They make recent Sabres and Coyotes teams, who were actively trying to ice poor rosters, look like the Blackhawks.

 

Their D is borderline AHL quality

 

Trying to ignore that fact. Thoughts of another west coast swing haunt me. Also, that's why I'd prefer the Oilers.

Ideally, Preds take 3rd in the central and play a slumping Minnesota team.
