At least Hawthorne Heights USED to be popular haha. Man Overboard and Family Force 5 playing main in 2015 still might be an even bigger head scratcher than HH this year.

Jule Vera makes no sense, though. If they wanted to go the route of having a few female artists on main stage, Courage My Love and Creeper would likely draw a bit more.

Because the leak isn't the full lineup, what are the chances that pierce the veil play on main stage?

    Whatever. Forever.

I think this year has the best undercard I've seen since going, a really nice mix and not a ton of bands I've seen before. The mainstage is crap but last year was really top heavy so I understand the change.

It would only be partial dates, but it is possible.

What about 2016 didn't you like? I'm 31. It was my favorite lineup since I started going in 2004.

Last Year was my first warped tour and it was a great year to jump on. That being said I was sun burnt the day before pretty bad and it was only worse going to warped tour. I wish I could have enjoyed myself but considering i was in pain all day it was pretty hard. This year I have a chance to not be stupid and not go into the day sun burnt already. I think is lineup is pretty good and it gave me what I want - a bunch of bands I have never heard of before and was able to discover because of warped tour. Even with an extremely vented and narrowed down list i personally have 16-25 bands I want to see. To see everyone I want I would have to go to 2 stops (which I wont) I think people should give some of these unknown bands a chance. For example I am mainly into the metal acts this year but one punk band that I have listened to all day is War on Women. Their great musicians and its in a genre (Punk/thrash) that I dont focus on much. Same goes for Municipal Waste and Valient Thorr. All those groups i had never heard of before a few days ago and now I enjoy them very much. This year is a solid year. Maybe not perfect (I mean hell journeys left sucks a bunch of dick this year and I am only interest in 1 or 2 performances on it) but I think as a whole its pretty good. And honestly I prefer this lineup then what it seems like it had been like since the beginning of the decade where they were basically bringing the same bands back every other year. I think they started to break that trend last year and this year they may have completely broken out of that rut.

I might have bumped up to 11 or so bands now with me planning to check out Boston Manor, Fit For A King, and Sylar but still not enough to bring me to two dates.

I don't understand why everyone saying this is the worst lineup. I'm 20, and every single person I know is STOKED for it. Friends my age are, my coworkers who are all late 20's and early 30's. There's something for everyone.
Honestly this forum is the only place I've seen people being negative for it.

This is gonna be my 3rd warped. This is gonna be the best year ever for me. 2016 had no appeal for me so I didn't go. I'm more of a metal than punk person. I'm about to be 30, growing up I was more concerned about ozzfest than warped.

I'm disappointed but I still like it. It isn't bad it just isn't what I was expecting. My priorities are (from most want to see to least):

    Beartooth
    Bad Omens
    I Prevail
    New Years Day
    Too Close to Touch
    Fit For a King
    Blessthefall
    After the Burial

  12. Yeah, and I'm almost 31 myself. 2016 had some great oldies, like Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Reel Big Fish, etc. BUT there was only like 5-8 bands I'd have even cared to see, and I'd already seen all of those bands multiple times. So I didn't go because I didn't feel like paying that money to see just a couple of bands spread out through the entire day sounded like very much fun. I haven't been to Warped Tour since 2012.

  13. i hope there are more bands to announce than these on that flier...

i'd only want to see The Ataris and maybe Anti-Flag, and GWAR just cuz it'd be funny. but yeah, i don't know if i'll be going yet another year... i wish they'd just have a stage of older bands to get us old fogies out there. i'd be much more inclined to go if there were 10 bands i really want to see.

You didn't like any of the newer pop punk bands like Real Friends, Knuckle Puck, and State Champs? 2012 was also a great year.

  15. i haven't really gotten into those bands, to be honest. they sound like watered down versions of the bands they are influenced by, in my opinion. haha. #grumpyoldman

I feel like a lot of people who like this year's lineup are going to get screwed with partial runs

Is it even fair to say there are "main stages" this year? I would say the Monster stages will probably get the same draws (if not bigger) than the Journeys stages this year.

I will just say that for me personally, half the fun of Warped is seeing random bands I’ve never listened to before. Every year I make an effort to listen to recent material from anyone that’s playing that might even be remotely interesting. I basically always find new stuff that I love. This year will be interesting with all the heavy bands, but I’m looking forward it.

I wonder if Lyman is getting to the point where he just doesn't give a shit. Warped Rewind is basically a vacation for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he spent more time on that then he did with Warped Tour.

Since there's no longer a Mayhem Fest/Ozzfest sized touring Metal fest at the moment, it's actually kind of smart for Warped to dive deeper into the realm of heavy bands.

I can't see CKY drawing well in 2017. It would have interesting to see them play back in the early 2000s when Jackass and Bam Margera were popular.

I've been listening through all the artists one stage at a time to get a feel for all of them, almost done with Journeys Left Foot. I surprisingly dig Futuristic, may check him out if nothing else I want to see is playing. I just really don't like I Prevail, instrumentation is really bland and their clean vocalist is just not a style I dig at all, though I will say that their unclean vocalist has potential that this band is holding back. Also side note, is Jule Vera the only main stage band to not have any Wikipedia entry?

Kinda haven't been paying attention to this thread since the leak. But people actually believe Jule Vera is gonna be main stage the whole tour? That's pretty obviously a bump-up. I mean I'll own up and say I'm wrong come Wednesday, but people discrediting the main stage because of them is making me laugh.

Oh. That makes more sense. I was thinking Journeys was what Hurley used to be

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Do the first 500 tickets purchased per date also come at a lower price, or is the download of the compilation the only perk?
