To mosh or stagedive or get up front or w/e. Like, a breakdown (which, in all fairness isn't a requirement in hardcore) is basically the musical equivalent of saying "Move!"

That's just dumb to me, though. Why do you need to jump on people?

After listening to the newest album, I stopped lying to myself and now openly acknowledge that I love One Direction.

I don't mind his earlier stuff, but once he started disappearing up his own arsehole, I just found him increasingly boring.

The Lost in Pacific Time EP The Academy Is... released before they broke up is my favorite release of theirs and I'm bitter we didn't get to see more in that sound/direction. Sputter and New York are particularly great.

I still can't get into Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American even though i love every other release starting with Clarity.

I prefer Codes and Keys to Narrow Stairs and Kintsugi by a pretty wide margin.

4 is my favorite Beyoncé album

808s and Heartbreak is possibly my favorite or joint tied with The College Dropout for Kanye's albums out of my recent first listens.

    ---

Not sure how popular/unpopular some of these are but I'm just going by what I've seen/heard around.

Ha! Well that statement doesn't really belong in this thread, cause it's pretty common to hear.

I know me liking VersaEmerge was unpopular back when they were still around. Did anyone actually listen to the VersaEmerge EPs, 'Perceptions' and self-titled? Or were they just brushed off as "another band like Paramore" because of Sierra? It was hard to talk about them on APnet.

I didn't really enjoy most of Fixed At Zero or what came after, but when they re-grouped as just VERSA and released the 'Neon' EP it was great.

I'm not sure what they're doing now, but this interview last year discussed a lot of what happened with FBR and the shelved full-length, which I think people would find interesting. It starts at 12:00.

Unfortunately, a lot of the stuff that was mentioned hasn't happened yet. The release of the song "Another Atmosphere" and its music video, for example.

Tonight Alive's The Other Side was a stellar record from the Alt Press/Warped Tour scene.

    - Finch's best album is Say Hello To Sunshine.
    - I'm not into anything by Brand New past Deja Entendu, and feel that they are a little overrated.
    - American Idiot was an awful album.
    - I love A-Types and Magnetic North more than The Satellite Years (But I do love that album too).

You can all hate me now.

Perceptions was good. I actually used a song off that for one of my log ins at ap. The album after that wasn't very good imo.

    -Make Believe is awesome.
-The Green Day Trilogy is pretty good--there's about 13-14 songs that make a stronger single album, but none of the discs are BAD.
-Chinese Democracy is incredible. 14 years well spent.
    -808s > The College Dropout
-Paul McCartney's RAM is the best post-Beatles album from any of the Fab 4. That includes the first Plastic Ono record.
-Michale Graves is just as good as Glenn Danzig. And Project 1950 is awesome in its own right.
-Some Girls is the best Rolling Stones album.
    -Al Green > Sam Cooke
-Neon Bible is the best Arcade Fire album.

I've actually come around on the Green Day trilogy. I think there are a lot of throwaway tracks, but two of the three albums are enjoyable to me at this point, and the single-disc version I made is fucking awesome.

This opinion was definitely unpopular back when 808s came out. These days though, I think it's pretty widely accepted as being fantastic and responsible for a lot of today's r&b. Both the Weeknd and Frank Ocean openly talk about how much that record influenced them.

Most of the time, Kanye is way ahead of the game.
