The Flatliners are a punk rock band from Ontario, Canada that formed in 2002.

They have a new 2-song EP, Nerves, out digitally on October 28th through Dine Alone Records, with 100 copies being pressed as a 7" and available exclusively at The Fest 15.

You can also stream it via Noisey.

Was just searching for this because this EP is tight.

I don't fuck with any materiel before Cavalcade, but everything onward I dig HEAVILY.

Yeah, I saw the EP stream and went looking for a thread for the band and realized none existed.

There's some good stuff on The Great Awake, but Destroy to Create isn't something I ever put on, and rom Cavalcade onward they really came into their own.

I really dig this new EP, Chris' vocals are so strong here. I really hope they put out a full length in 2017.

Love this band. I feel like I haven't seen them in forever, I need to change that on this Bouncing Souls tour.

I'm in the same boat. Cavalcade is as far back as I go. I met someone from Toronto a couple months ago and asked her if she knew the Flats, to which she replied she used to listen to them back when they were a ska band, which I'm not huge on lol.

Super excited for this new album. Rise has really made an effort to diversify and recruit some of my favorite bands over the years (PBC, Silverstein, Sharks).

Take note New Found Glory this is how you announce an album! Preorders + New Song on the same day.

    I love this.

I wasn't a huge Dead Language fan, but I think they were able to hone in with what they were trying to do with that record in this sound. Both songs on Nerves and this are phenomenal.

Liked it on first listen. Will dive in more once I'm over my After the Party honeymoon period lol

Can't stop listening to this song and hang my head, I'm down to fuck with this album when it's out

I liked the new song better than the one prior. Definitely is sounding more mainstream rock-ish than anything they've done prior

Sounds like they simply embraced some less aggressive bluesy stuff that really shows off Chris' range. I'm looking forward to the album because I simply love this band, and they can't repeat the past two records so sounds to me that they decided to take it down a few, which I dig. Also gives more room for Chris' lyrics to breathe.

I'm definitely still interested just being cautious now

Definitely going more of a rock route, could end up being really good though!

Yeah just sounds like it's going to be very polished and lost all of the "punk" edge of the last records. Just gonna take a second to get used to I think

Totally didn't realize Hang My Head was on here too.

I love that song, I want to relisten to these songs so I like them more but don't want to burn them out before hearing the full thing, so I will just wait haha

Nicotine lips is a beast song and Indoors works a lot better in context imo

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really enjoy the new songs. I like that they are changing things up and keeping it fresh. I get a little Gaslight feel at times. Mostly on Indoors. I am excited for the album. Below is my ranking of the songs that I've heard.

    Hang My Head
    Human Party Trick
    Indoors
    Infinite Wisdom
